The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the centre, but positioned by the Rhine, giving some great views over the mighty river and nearby castles from anything above the first floor.
Mercure is a bit of a 'McDonald's' choice in that you can pretty much know what to to expect. Comfortable, clean but lacking in character.
Mainly a hotel aimed at midweek businessman, the hotel often has good offers at the weekend. Some will be taken up with coach parties of wrinkies from Barnsley although we we lucky enough to stay when an episode of 'Germany's top model' was being shot.
I have been specifically told by my wife not to mention the the hot-tub in the basement which contained a pair of Models in the nud. Happy days.
