Unique Quality: You may enter the castle freely and without restriction. As a hostel-guest you may even use the great table-tennis at one of the terraces - see my pictures !!

castlehotel Liebenstein: just 15km from Oberwesel

Hotel Burg Liebenstein is just about 15 km north of Oberwesel and an interesting alternative, in case that Hotel Schoenburg is fully booked or simply too expensive for you.
The castle-hotel is quite remote and it offers a fews great rooms at reasonable prices - just click on the link below !
I was there in early april, the week before easter and there were just a very few guests, as the street going up is quite steep.

Unique Quality: This castle-hotel has a great interior with several old Iron armouries, an open fireplace and lovely furniture - see my extra pics of the restaurant.
NO noises of the trains in this castle-hotel!

Jugendgästehaus Oberwesel: A Great Hostel Next to the Castle

I spent a week at this hostel and loved it. The rooms are comfortable and the staff very accomodating. Quite inexpensive and a great view of the castle and hill.

Jugengastehaus: A safe stay on a hill

It's like a camp resort for kids, but adults and students are allowed to stay as well as a part of Hostel International. It was no frills, and mostly empty on our wing, but it was clean and roomy. It also included a free breakfast. We were in town earlier and had dinner and proceeded to buy bottles of wine which we took to our rooms and played '***' until we couldn't stand anymore

Unique Quality: There were little kids staying there from Holland, England, and Austria. We talked to them for a few hours and showed them the wonders of America. We got a kick out of it.
