Gasthof Bärenfels
This typical, charming inn exists since the 17th century. I like it for the familiar atmosphere, the good service and excellent food. The rooms are nicely furbished (old style) and equipped with SAT-TV, tel., etc. - what you expect from a 3star hotel.
The room rates are 50 Euro for a double/32 euro for a single incl. breakfast buffet. If you stay longer you get a discount. Half board is optional and recommended - very good food.
Try to get a room to the west - better views and absolutely quiet.
Unfortunately the hotel is located in a village at the northern edge of the cross-country skiing/hiking tracks. There is a frequent public bus service to Altenberg, though, with connections to Dresden (bus/train).
