Zwinger. Court
As in previous times there are concert in the open air in the square of Zwinger. Nowadays seats are on the ground but in XVIII century, books tell, there are seat places on the balconies of the Zwinger’s buildings.

Hi @ all,
Has anyone been to Aha hotel Dresden? Any recommendation is highly appreciated. Are rooms quiet? What about public transport, is there a good and near connection to all places of (touristic) interest?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Kind regards
Nic

Here they recently held a "Language Day" for teachers of foreign languages from all over this end of Sachsen. I was one of about a dozen workshop leaders on that day, and I was very satisfied because there were nearly sixty English teachers at my workshop and they were all very cooperative, asked lots of good questions, did all the crazy things I asked them to do and even laughed at (most of) my jokes. What more can one ask on a rainy Saturday afternoon?
Second photo: In September 2008 I went back and did another workshop, which was also well attended and went off very well. When I have a smaller group I usually have them sit in a semi-circle of chairs, but here the group was too large so they had to sit in rows. But I still got them up on their feet and talking at appropriate times. (It was a workshop, after all, not a lecture.)
Third photo: VHS Dresden sign outside the building.

This is another funky little student's pub and I had the pleasure to meet up with VTer Antji again on a spring 2003 trip back to Saxony. This time I picked the place as Doreen had found one in the Neustadt that atypically has Belgian beers on offer. I wouldn't normally drink anything but German beer when there, but I had been in the country for quite a while and wanted something different. It's especially attractive as they cost a fraction of the US price (a Duvel cost only 2.50 Euros). A handy black bag comes in ....well, handy. ;) Thanks for the Duvel glass, Antji.
Its on Alaunstrasse, and has its own courtyard area, which I was told was great in summer or warmer weather to sit outside and see where many artists have painted Spanish type art along the walls. On most nights its noisy, some smoky, and people from end to end but it has terrific atmosphere! Like the foto shows a band that plays live music many times. The service was a bit slow at times but because it was so busy, and the servers really spoke Spanish too! We had tapas, which are like Spanish appetizers, steamed fish, olives, bread, chicken, and other things. Authentic mixed drinks also, and of course, beer! Everything was good!
Hip and cool - the neustadt was the location of our case study site - a hotel/cafe to be build at the former Pfund Molkeri (spelling is probably wrong).
I enjoyed the Children's Zoo across from Kunsthofpassage. The area is for children from the city to learn about animals. It is built by the children so so have kind of a lord of the flies feeling to it. I especially enjoyed the stuffed animal totem - where once loved stuffed animals are placed.
