The hostel is situated in the Neustadt, not far from Neustadt train station. The walk into the town centre will take 15-20 minutes. I suggest getting a pass for public transport, there are several tram lines in all directions which will be useful.
Every one of us saw films about knights and their traditions. One of typical knights’ time traditional was tournament. Dresden can proud with exclusive court of tournaments what saved from ancient times. This place is in the palace territory in the old part of Dresden. The gallery in the photo is the part of the court and probably there stood knights’ funs.
Every year Dresden has its Stadtfest (or Party of the City) in end of august.
There are so much events in the Altstadt of Dresden - music, fireworks, bands, lots of stands of eating and drinking...and so much people.
In 2006 Dresden will celebrate its 800 year Party.
I can recommend everybody to come to this big Party!
This is the castle between Schloss Egberg and Schloss Albrechtsburg. Sorry I forget the name...;( It´s nice too see from the other side of the Elb but I can´t recommend to visit it because it´s a little bit tumbledown.
An evening in Dresden must not always mean only opera, concerts or theatre. Whoever would rather go on a pub crawl will find what they are looking for in the Neustadt district. In Hauptstraße, Rähnitzgasse and Königstraße there is a variety of different restaurants. But they all have one thing in common: the evocative atmosphere of a Baroque palace with quiet inner-courtyards and relaxed beer or wine bars. International and Saxon cooking can also be found around Albertplatz. Closeby is Alaunstraße, which has many pubs and inter national restaurants. The alternative city culture is centred around Katharinenstraße and Alaunstraße. In the summer most pubs have the extra attraction of a beer garden.
It is a very nice small place with a friendly climate and good service. As far as in Dresden there are some problems with good and not very expensive sushi, I was really glad to find this restaurant. Sushi, of course :)
