Schloss Pillnitz
by Antji
I can recommend to make a trip to Schloss Pillnitz. It´s closed by dresden and there are a beautiful romantic garden and park around. It´s great too every saison and you can relaxe so much on one of the lot´s of benches.
Pirna
by Leipzig
Pirna has about 40,000 inhabitants and is situated south of Dresden on the Elbe River. It was founded in 1233. Its name comes from the old czech word "berne" which means "Tax" or "Duty" due to its function as duane on the Elbe river. All ships coming or going to Bohemia had to stop here for paying taxes. This made Pirna a wealthy town.
Pirna is a hidden gem, a few miles south of Dresden. Its town centre worth at least a few hours to be visited.
Railway station
by bugulma
There are two railway station. The central station is in the old town and you arrive there when you go from other cities. In the new town, as you'v gussed, there is the new town's railway station :-)
Ticket office works till 9 pm but if you will be not in time you can buy ticket in the automat. I did it and it's funny process (in this case use your credit card for paying)
The Balcony of Europe
by LanaFromRiga
“The Balcony of Europe” is the name of the terrace in Dresden. The Balcony of Europe is along river Elba and it is a part of historical part of Dresden. Most beautiful views to historical Dresden are from this terrace. There are many cosy street cafes and it is most popular place for walking.
