We are booked on a Peter Deilmann river cruise in early April. Last year the water level was so low on the Elbe that a lot of cruises were cancelled. Is the water level high enough now for cruising?
It has been rainig a lot in the last weeks, so it should be ok :o)

There is a beautiful church in the small village of Altkötzschenbroda, called the Friedenskirche - Church of Peace. This name has a very special significance, as it was there, in this church, where the truce was signed in 1645, after almost 30 years of fighting throughout Europe. A plate in front of the church remembers this event. Inside there is a very old table, it may have been the one where the papers were signed, but this is not 100% certain.There is a sign saying it is possible this was the original table.
The windows above the altar are from 20th century, very colourful, showing details from the Sermon on the Mount.The pulpit is much older, from 17th century.
The Christus Church (Dresden-Strehlen) was built 1902-05 by Schilling&Graebner in Art Nouveau style. Its 66 m high towers are dominating landmarks in east Dresden.
In WWII the church burned out, but it has been restored in 1951 and later again and again, finally in 1980.
A masterpiece is the organ, built by Jehmlich bros. in 1905, rebuilt after WWII in 1951 and restored again 1984 - 88.
For a private sightseeing tour you can opt for a ride in the Stretch-Trabant Limo, a special long car assembled from at least three ordinary Trabant cars.
A small tour of 30 minutes costs Euro 12.50.
I don't remember the name of the restaurant. I can say that the building has a name "Italian house" because of workers from Italy lived in the square when the Cathedral was built. The house has a cafe and a restaurant. Goulash
