I stayed here last year on a business occasion (but don't worry about business folks - it's mostly a hotel for individual travellers).
It's a castle hotel - you can have a room either in the new (built in the 1990s) wing or in the Renaissance castle. I picked one in the castle for the ambience.
The castle itself is worth a visit. Some of the interior (especially wooden ceilings and the vaults) is originally preserved.
I enjoyed the garden with pond, ducks and bird cage behind the hotel very much. Perfect to relax. There is a nice cafe overlooking the garden.
The restaurant is open in the evening during weekdays, on weekend also for lunch. Excellent food!
The ambience is wonderful. A Renaissance castle, carefully renovated and modernised. Quiet location 3 km outside the city centre of Zittau (bus service).
The food in the restaurant was fantastic. They use to serve a 3-course dinner if you book half-board (recommended). On Saturdays they also offer a special 6-course candlelight dinner ...
Stay a week and you get special rates: 350 Euro per person in a double room, including breakfast buffet and 3-course dinner. A bargain! Special offers also available for weekends.
