At the western end of the old town is the Westerntor, the only remaining of the former city gates. To be exact, it's just the tower of the city gate that is preserved.

The 36 m tall tower was built ca. 1250 in early Gothic style. Due to the location and massive shape it is one of the landmarks in town.
