DB´s excellent website should answer all your questions.

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/e

Quick look shows that there direct trains take more than 9 hours.

Can´t help with fares as you can´t book more than 90 days ahead.

There are only 2 direct trains:

EC Berlin Hbf dep 09:42 Vienna Südbahnhof arr 19:03
Normal single ticket is EUR 95,00. There are e.g. discounts for return tickets if you book in advance. But this is yet not possible (only 3 months before departure).

If going via Prague is an option for you, do so.

It will take a bit longer, but it can be cheaper if you don't get any special deals on the "direct" connection from Berlin to Vienna. The direct is in quotes because the train makes a detour around the Czech Republic and crosses the German-Austrian border at Passau. (Very nice little city btw.)

There are train connections that go the same route as the direct train leaving from Berlin almost every hour, but they all require you to change once or twice. The most convienient would be the EN 229 night train, leaving at 20:54 from Berlin Hbf and arriving in Vienna at 09:06. It is possible to order a couchette on this train, so you could sleep.

Cheaper would be the bus. Check out www.eurolines.com and www.gullivers.de

Travel Tips for Berlin

Reunion...

by bpwillet

My fondest memory of Berlin is being able to hang out with good friends. It is great to get the opportunity to hang out with people that you can share these experiences with It great fun to be able to hang out with great "brothers" no matter where you are in the world. I wish them the best!

Orangerie

This is also located within the Sanssouci Park area. Built by Persius and Stüler between 1851 and 1864 in a style inspired by mediterranean architecture. A columned entrance hall, a belvedere crowning the palace, and two towers linked with a gallery of columns clearly show that this building was supposed to copy the villa style of Italian Renaissance. It too has extensive and beautiful gardens to visit. There is an admission charge to visit the interior but the top walkway is free and gives great views of the gardens and of Potsdam

Reichstagg Dome

by Markyreid

We climbed to the top of what i think was the Reichstagg. It is a clear dome that provides a view of surrounding Berlin and also a view down into the workings of Parliament. It is free entry, but be warned it can take over an hour to get inside. Worth the look if you are the curious sort and have some time to kill.

Pergamon Museum (Ishtar Gate)

by euzkadi

This beautiful gate was the eight gate to the city of Babylon. It was dedicated to goddess Ishtar. Through the gate rans the processional street with walls covered of lions made by tiles. The reconstruction was made in 1930 by Robert Koldway. There´s also a small model of the original place.

Berliner Dom

by bpwillet

This is a magnificent house of worship was built buy Germany's past Prussian leaders at the turn of the 20th century. It is impressive to view from any angle. It has recently been restored and the interior cielings are quite a sight to see. Usually open from 9:30am-8pm except on Sundays when it opens at 11:30.
