Musicians
by Bushman23
K, i dunno if they do this every Saturday, but outside the HauptBahnHof they had an exhibition of old tractors, and (i guess) the local orchestra playing. Was fantastic, loads of people everywhere. Bit of an odd location though, i would have thought it would be closer to the center of town... Anyway, the HauptBahnHof is easy enough to find, so go have a look some Saturday...
Kieler Woche
by Bushman23
Between the 17th & 25th June every year is the Kieler Woche, the highlght of the local calender. Its a gathering of Tall ships, and has resulted in Kiel becoming a cultural melting pot during that week, with thousands of tourists coming to see the live music, sporting events, and markets that take place. Oh, and not to mention the ships...
Check out the website below... I'm afraid its all in German though.
The trip that didn't really happen

"Okay, so I went to Kiel..."
I really did! I just...didn't spend any time there. My husband and I had just purchased a new car and were going to pick it up in Sweden, and Kiel is where we caught our ferry. It was a day of firsts for the both of us...first train ride(s), first ferry ride, etc. We walked from the train station to the ferry and spent awhile looking at the sights from the deck, and I truly wish we'd been able to see more. I'll put our pictures of Kiel in a travelogue. I'm sorry if this page is useless to you, but I do hope you enjoy the pictures.
