As you stroll along Kiellinie, you will pass by the Aquarium. I did not find the aquarium too exciting and I actually would have given it a miss. Nothing too exciting to me as I have seen many better underwater world. It is terribly small and you can finish within 1/2 hour. What a disappointmnet. THIS IS THE BEST AND IS FREE!!!
BUT you must never miss taking a look at the seals in the basin in front of the institute for oceanography. The seals (they call them seahunds) are so so cute - they actually swim up and down the short basin almost to amuse watchers. Sometimes they even do back stroke!!!
The seals are of the northern and Baltic Sea.
I was so darn lucky that day to happen to be there at the right time - the feeding time.
It is daily at 10am and 2.30pm, except Fridays. wonder - do they go on diet on Fridays!
