City Hotel Eisenach: just 300 meters to the train-station

When you travel by train to Eisenach it might make sense to search for a hotel close to the train-station and City-Hotel is the closest to the station I could find.
Prices are quite low as well and walking to the old town of Eisenach is also just in a short distance, about 300 meters to Karlsplatz and the local bus will take you to Wartburg as well.
Opposite of the hotel there is a large public parking with a fee to be payed Mon-Fri between 09.00a.m. and 05.00p.m., the hotel has its own parking for 3 euros a day !
Room-prices are moderate :
singleroom 44,- euros
doubleroom 33,- p.P.
Appartement for 3 Persons is 77 euros per room
Appartement for 4 Persons is 88,- euros p.R.
all of them have private facilities !

Unique Quality: There is a lift and the rooms are facing backwards. Bikes may be stored inside the hotel !

Residenzhaus: cheap rooms in a lovely building

I had my Hotel / Hostel in the very centre of Eisenach, very close to Luther-Haus : A tiny old castle was transfered into a modern hostel in a funny way with larger rooms for big families and a few single and double-rooms, some of which were even equipped with a waterbed. So I tried out the single-room with the waterbed for 30 euros, with an ordinary bed it would have been 5 euros cheaper. The 2nd day I asked for an ordinary single and got a single bed in a room of 8 beds, all for myself and it included my own bathroom for just 25 euros. A large breakfast was always included in these prices and I may highly recommend this place !

Unique Quality: My 1st room, the one with the waterbed did not have its own facilities, BUT it provided a fine bathing-coat for the guest (me) , so I could easily walk to the bathroom around the corner. A large parking is directely in front of the hotel, only during the day you pay for parking there !
Unfortunately the large room had no curtains at all, the streetlight was shining into it the whole night and the guests of the hotel at the other side of the narrow sidestreet ( 5 meters distance) could take a look into the room as well.
My single-room with the waterbed was facing nobody and had a curtain...

Hotel auf der Wartburg: what a great & romantic place !

This 5-star hotel was rebuilt in 1994, the building itself dates back to the end of the 19th century, when a hotel and restaurant was added to the Wartburg, because the tourist-stream was quite heavy already at that time. The architect had built a hotel that fitted well to the sensible architecture of the Wartburg and so you still have the feeling to live in a house dating back to medieval times.

Unique Quality: Besides the great rooms there is a nice terrace facing the backside of the Wartburg, there are various halls and side-rooms for special occasions and the best time in this great hotel starts in the evening and early in the morning , when you are almost alone on top of the hill, all of the thousands of day-tourists far away and you may feel like lodging in your own, private palace...
