The only disadvantage I can think of ( apart from the cost which I wouldnt be able to afford without going with my parents) is that it is on the opposite side of the Rock to the town so you either have to get the bus or a taxi every time you want to go shopping or visit most of the attractions. However it does mean it is quiter than in the town.
The Caletta is built on a large precipice of Rock on the southern end of Catalan Bay and some of the sea view rooms are right above the sea. infact the waves even undercut the rock that the Caletta is on so you can feel the waves hit.
The pool is saltwater but really nice, as is the whole sun-lounging area. There is a set of stairs that go straight down onto the beach as well. I like to swim in the sea, come back up and go in the pool, which then seems warm.
