Heraklions Worst Hotel
Do not stay at this hotel.
I called the hotel to say I would be arriving late. They said that would be fine and someone would be at reception.
When I arrived I was told that there were no rooms. The hotel was overbooked. I was told that I was being sent to a resort 5Km away.
I was told that this had never happened before. At that moment several other people came into the hotel lobby to say that they had been overbooked and sent to a hotel that was not even open.
At 6.00am I was found alternative accommodation and told I would need to come back at 12.00 noon.
Unique Quality: The staff are not unhelpful but hardly friendly. The air conditoning in my room was loud and smelt of urine. The room was dirty. The maid insisted on disturbing me - despite a do not disturbe sign being placed on the outside of the door.
