Nightlife consists of going for a meal. Some of the bigger resorts like Benitses and Dassia have great bars and disco bars. Some restaurants have greek nights, where the waiters dance with fire and lift tables up with just thier teeth.Sidari has a great selection or bars, cocktail bars.Kassiopi had a good selection of taverna's and bars.If you just go out for a drive, you will soon come across a taverna or a bar.
I liked Dassia because it had a good selection of bars, taverna's,reasaurants ,shops and there was plenty going on without it being too noisy ,like Benitses. Casual to smart.
Visit the little church...
by DAISYCHAIN
Visit the little church situated a few miles from ipsos. It is a very famous building and is on the cover of many tourist greek books. I do not remember the exact location or where it would come under, but if you ask your local tour rep for a map of local tourist destinations he can direct you into the right direction. The church goes right out into the lake where fishing boats can be hired so you can take a better look.
Take a ride on your motorcycle and find the little hidden beaches that are tucked away between rocks, very romantic spots can be found in Dassia (a few miles up from Ipsos). Beaches tend to be a bit quieter around here and you have more chance of getting a ideal spot for sunbathing!
I also recommend you take a ride down to the capital of Corfu-CORFU TOWN, which takes about 40 minutes by motocycle. Its a bit of a rough ride but well worth it! See the old greek ruins in the city, the harbour and visit the old crafty shops, you are guaranteed not to come home empty handed. Many places to wine and dine here , prices are quite resonable for a city, watch a game of cricket on the green or take a stroll down the discounted bag and clothes market, try not to get lost!

Corfu 10th October OK?
by krissy8
Hi,
Have booked to go to Dassia this time and was wondering what kind of weather I can expect please? Have been in May and that was fine, and very early October quite a few years back, when we had one thunderstorm and relatively pleasant weather. Have I made a mistake booking 10th to 17th though? Thanks,
Krissy

Hi Krissy,
From my experience, the weather in the Greek islands can be a bit hit and miss at that time of year.
I've twice been to Corfu in late October and the weather has been warm and sunny practically all week. On another occasion, I visited Sivota (on the Greek mainland, just across from Corfu) in late September and experienced heavy rain and thunderstorms for 5 of the 7 days that I was there.
Also in October, I've experienced heavy rain in Crete, blazing hot sunshine in Rhodes and Athens and a week of mixed sunshine and rain in Zante.
In summary: when the sun shines, the temperatures are still fairly high even in October, but there's always the threat of rain showers or storms. Hopefully, you'll fall lucky and have a nice rain-free week!
Enjoy your trip!
Jonathan

Thanks for your reply Jonathan! Here's hoping for a rain free week. Your answer fits in with what we experienced early October, so fingers crossed!
Cheers

Hello fellow Owls fan! :-)
I definitely hope you get a week of sunshine now! If you'd been a Blade, I might have wished for rain, haha! ;-)
It must be something about Sheffield (or maybe SWFC!) that causes us to escape from the country at every given opportunity! ;-)
I'm sure you'll have a great time in Corfu. It was the first place I ever visited overseas, so it'll always be a special place for me. It's a lovely green island with great beaches, picturesque villages and an impressive main town. If you get chance, check out the view point at Paleokastritsa - breathtaking views from up there!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan,
My third visit. We went to Paleokastrista last time. Agree it's a fabulous spot, and we loved the monastery. Thanks for taking time to reply!
Cheers!
Krissy :)
