Portobello Apartments, Elounda: A Place on the beach
The Portobello is a 5 minutes walk from the harbour on the road to Plaka. All the apartments have an amazing view out to sea. Our room was a family room on the top floor there are only three floors. There isn't a lift so if you are not to mobile a ground floor would be best. The apartment we stayed in is a corner room with a separate bedroom with twin beds and a sofa bed, it as a dining room and kitchen and another sofa bed were our grandson slept that's why we think there was never any biscuits left. There was a large bathroom with a good shower the shower head had a bracket on the wall so you didn't have to hold it. In my experience of Greece this is quite unusual.
The grounds are well kept with a small lawned area. There is a pool and a very nice pool bar were you can get the usual snacks, the yogurt and fruit was lovely. The pool itself is on the small side and is 1.5 meters deep all over my wife is 5ft 2" and doesn't swim couldn't use the pool. I would definitely recommend this apartment and also the Corali next door they are both owned by the very nice Yanis
These apartments are in an ideal position opposite the jetty and anyone who knows Elounda the windmill is also there. It is also about 10 meters from the main beach with good sands that are gently shelving into the sea. What I liked about these apartments are the little touches about the place, such as the antique radio on one floor and a sawing machine on another. In the grounds there is different bits and pieces dotted around, there is a basket full of shells that people have added to over the years. The views of the mountains from the pool are stunning.

Aquila Elounda Village: Great!!
Third time that I go there and as usual, fantastic stay.
The hotel, the gardens are beautiful. Everything's done to make you feel at ease and to make you rest.
My room was big, clean, comfortable... I have a different room each time and I've never been disappointed.
The pools are very clean and there are sunbeds for everyone.
The staff is efficient, polite, smiling,... They are perfect.
The food is good but sometimes, a diner out in town is a good thing. Don't misunderstand me, it was good every evening but the real greek food is in Elounda, not in a hotel.
I really recommend this hotel if you want to relax and have a calm stay.
