Gyros vs. Souvlaki
I participated ina study abroad program with the University and lived in Kifisia for about 4 months. The town itself is ok, its a bit posh but we definitely had a good time.
The best place there was the hofbrahouse only because it didn't try to be trendy and the waitstaff wasn't Greek.
The one litre beers were good too.
Its close enough to Athens so you can take full advantage of the ferrys for some island hopping and it is only a 20 minute metro ride to downtown.
No tomatoes...but the souvlaki was delicious, definitely had my fill on that and greek salads.
