Labor Day
We have sort or finalized our itinerary, and we will find ourselves taking a 7:00 am fast cat to Mykonos on the Friday before the Greek Labor Day, April 30. Does this mean there will be hoards of natives exiting the mainland for the islands, in addition to the usual tourists? Do we need to make reservations on the fast cat, and reservations at a hotel? We were hoping to just wing it, but if Greek Labor Day is anything like ours, that will be impossible. Any one know anything about this?
Has anyone ever stayed at either of the camping places on Mykonos, Paradise Beach Camping or Mykonos Camping on Paraga Beach? The guide books say they both have cabins to rent, but they indicate they can be pretty raucous, expecially Paradise Beach Camping. Would they be that way in early May as well as in the summer?
Any other recommendations for either domatia or less expensive hotels on Mykonos would be appreciated. They don't have to be as cheap as cabins in a camping place, just not luxury hotels.

You can count on all public transportation to be very busy during a national holiday in Greece. Make reservations.

The greek Labour Day is May 1st.
Like any other spring weekend, a lot of greek people will head for the islands and the countyside and many of the domatia will be occupied.
However, I doubt if Myconos will be as crowded as in the summer, as the foreign tourists usually flock in around June. You will probably find a room somewhere and the camping sites will be almost empty.
