Palakas best hotel

We have had a rough journey getting to Athens , and the manager and staff of the AVA smoothed everything over by going out of the way to accomodate us ( free bottle of champagne 5 mins after checking in) we loved the tiled bathroom is our suite room 0 it was immaculte and the hotel was quiet and safe . you could just turn right out of the door and walk 3 blocks to a vantage point right underneath the arcropils , the restaurants nearby were great for people watching and relaxing in the shade.. do try to get to the museum and the enter the arcropils from the compleate other side from where the AVA hotel is located

Plaka's Best little Family Hotel

This is a wonderful little hotel in Plaka that has consistently been ranked the #1 hotel in trip advisor. So we decided to stay 2 night before we left Athens for home.

We were pleasently suprised. We stayed at their top/presedential suit that has a small kitched and a very large sit out and seperate bedroom.

Both have a Balcony.. a wonderful suire for under 200 Euros. This is the place I would stay when I am on a budget and looking for a best value on my money.

Unique Quality: Very personalized attntion. When my flight was cancelled this hotel allowed me to make calls back home to the US about my flight cancellation for free.

They refused to take money, wonderful hotel. I will stay there anytime I am in Athens next.

Great location

This hotel was fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms were more then spacious. It is located in Plaka, right between the Akropolis and the Temple of Zeus. When you walked out the front door, you look left to Hadrian's Arch at the end of the street and right to see the Greek flag flying from the Akropolis. It was also easy to get to from the subway station.

More about AVA Hotel Athens

"HOME, away from home"

by A TripAdvisor Member

Our association with AVA dates back to more than a year and even now we have a refreshing relationship. All our colleagues have their initial stay in Athens in the most comfortable "Home away from home", AVA hotel.

Its location is a very big advantage to any new comers to the city, JUST IN THE CENTRE, all round 360 degree there is something or the other to see, its awesome you know!

Have to accept the fact that the hospitality shown by the frontdesk staff is just great.. above all standards...Especially our need is in such a way that we would be booking apartments in an adhoc manner depending on our business needs and VISA availability and believe it or not its just too adhoc....But to our greatest surprise we have the extremely extended support from the entire staff when it comes to booking even amidst the peak season. We are much grateful for that.

When it comes to the rooms and stay, its a pleasant experience through out. And at this point i cant forget to mention about the breakfast served daily.. Wow its just delicious and have a wide variety ! No one should miss it !

So all through the period, we were so comfortable that seldom reminds that we are in a foreign land !

Thanks AVA !!!(And again special thanks to frontdesk staff for all your directions and help ...Efaristo Sas)....

Exceptional hotel

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in Sept The location was perfect for sightseeing as well as being able to have dinner in the plaka district at night. Rooms were clean and spacious. The staff is what really makes this hotel so special. They are warm and caring and will go out of their way to accommodate you. Every hotel should should take lessons from them.
When I go back to Greece I will only stay at the AVA and will recommend them to all my friends.

Thanks for a perfect vacation

An outstanding experience

by TripAdvisor Member Adam R

We recently stayed in an Executive Apartment for three nights during a visit to Athens and were thoroughly impressed with the location, staff and services offered by the AVA Hotel. The room was spacious; the hotel is in an outstanding location; and the staff were more than willing to go out of their way to help when asked. We tried to come up with something constructive to say and could only remember that the bathroom door made a noise when closed. We VERY highly recommend the AVA Hotel and will definitely stay there again if/when we should return to Greece.

Will Stay Here Again

by A TripAdvisor Member

First of all, I absolutely loved Athens, especially Plaka, where this hotel is located. The people are so nice and the food is incredible (every restaurant we tried was great - they really try to compete for your service). Plaka is the perfect place to stay because it is near all the ruins and the region is great to walk around in and take in all the scenery. The hotel is located in a wonderful location and is a place I would definitely stay in again. The room was very spacious and sparkling clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Don't pay the 10 euro for the continental breakfast though, go to one of the nearby restaurants. We got a fabulous breakfast with omelets, yogurt with honey, and fresh squeezed OJ.

AVA Was Just Like Home

by A TripAdvisor Member

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the AVA Hotel in Athens. We had looked over the many brochures travel agents had shown us and were unable to find apartments at a reasonable price close to the centre of Athens which could accommodate the four of us. We then found the AVA mentioned on another website and decided to give it a go. We are very glad we did. From our second storey balcony [there is only two storeys] we had magnificent views of Hadrian's Arch to our left and the Acropolis to our right. Our street was relatively quiet most of the time. Only on Friday and Saturday night a little noisier as it lead to The Plaka where you then have a huge choice of restaurants/tavernas and shops starting approx. 150 metres away. The staff at the AVA could not do enough for us in the way of organising tours, soccer tickets and directions to various sites and were always very pleasant on our way out for the day and when arriving back again. Breakfast was supplied in the price of 230 eurs per night and was more than adequate. We had two teenage sons with us and they were more than happy with the choices of food. Our room contained suitable bedding facilities for the four of us; a lovely bathroom, air con, kitchen facilities, desk, tv, plenty of cupboard space and was a pleasure to come back to each day. Housemaid staff were very efficient and courteous. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay and are normally fairly picky regarding city accommodation, so we were very happy with the outcome.

The most friendly atmosphere

by A TripAdvisor Member

My husband I recently spent 4 nights in an Executive Apartment, and my 80 year old mother in a very cosy double room with a kitchenette. My brother and his family chose another hotel, which they regretted! We could all 6 meet in our spacious room for drinks before going out for dinner – the kitchenette was fully equipped. On my mothers 80 years births day we all had breakfast in the hotel with presents and Danish flags all over. And guess what – at the end of the meal, the staff brought a layer cake with a candle for my mother, wishing her all the best! The staff at the AVA Hotel are most obliging, friendly and informal - they are a great asset for this hotel. The hotel is perfectly situated for sightseeing, and has a fantastic look at Zeus Temple and Acropolis from the balconies. When they have finished building a rooftop area/restaurant this hotel will be a perfect choice. Thank you all. You contributed to making this holiday unforgettable.

A Real Find

by A TripAdvisor Member

Wow! Was this hotel a find. We arrived after being on a 12 day cruise. This hotel was more than one would expect from a hotel. We had a one bedroom apartment with a kitchenete, marble bathroom and cherry wood furnishings. From our terrace we could see the Acropolis in one direction and Handrian's arch in another. This hotel is situated in the Plaka district and within walking distance to Athens major attractions. From our hotel we walked up to the top of the Acropolis, around the Acropolis to the Roman Forum and to the numerous museums nearby.

The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly and made you feel as though you were family and a guest in their own home. A personal touch you would not find in a chain hotel. The breakfast room was bright, cheerful and comfortable.
