Alma Hotel
If you are looking for good, basic, clean accommodation then look no futher than this hotel. The rooms are very basic, but extremely clean. Each room has aircon and a TV, but not all of them have en-suite bathrooms. They have a lift although it is small and provide free internet to the residents on the mezanine floor. They also provide a small breakfast of toast, cake, cheese, cold meat with orange juice and tea/coffee.

Good Location
Hotel was average. Not great but nothing to complain about. Oh, who am I kidding. I can complain about anything. But this time it was just construction in the area which the hotel had no control over. But like I said good location. Clean.

Low rate, Omonia sq location
I lived in a single room for 2 days.
I was satisfied with conditions/rates. Clean, personnel is positive.
Pro's: 1) good location; 2) low price; 3) air-conditioner is present;
Con's: 1) there was no fridge in the room (it could be problem in summer). I don't know, if it's the same in other rooms or in my only; 2) facilities could be better: there is a small room with shower and w.c. pan.
So: the best for business trip.

Hotel Alma
Very cheap hotel.
small rooms and innconvient bathroom.
Only for young and persons who look for very cheap hotel in good location.

Cheap Hotels
Does anybody have any suggestions of cheap hotels in Athens for just 2 nights. Prefer close to all tourist attractions, cheap but still relatively nice and clean.

I can suggest a couple of hotels. They are both near Plaka, the Acropolis, the Metro, and Psirri. In Psirri, you can find a great number of restaurants and clubs.
One hotel is called Attalos. If you want more information, here is a website:

The other hotel is called Cecil. It's just down the block from the Attalos. You can read more about it on my Athens Travel Page.
Both of these hotels are clean, friendly, helpful, and cheap.

Attalos always seems to be a popular one. I would highly suggest getting your reservations right away though, because it fills up fast. Two years ago when I visited Athens they were already full several months in advance. I ended up at the Adams Hotel, which I would not recommend.

Always ask a hotel what their rating is. I do not recommend ever staying in a C class hotel.
Also, the Athens Imperial (L) has the best view in the city of the Acropolis. The rates are however, very high, but recommended.

Both the Attalos and Cecil are "C" class and are perfectly fine budget hotels.

Cheaper is Omonia Square, maximum 10 min. with metro to acropolis. We stayed with 50E/day in april and it was a 3star hotel. Another cheap one that u didn't try is alma hotel(it was 40E/day)
