15,000 drachma
Unique Quality: The Art Gallery Pension is a quaint, affordable, accomodation close to the Parthenon with friendly service and a great view of the Parthenon from their breakfast balcony. The rooms are simple with no air conditioning, however, the location is one of the best and once in Athens most mobile tourists are able to walk to the major sites including the Parthenon and Plaka.

This is an OK hotel, but I think it's too expensive. A double room with private bathroom in September was 100 euros, breakfast is an extra 7 euros.
It's a very clean hotel, there's A/C and a view of the Acropolis from the rooftop balcony.
But it happened twice that there was no hot water in the shower and they didn't do anything when we complained.
The breakfast is self-service and they offer cereals, butter, jam, ham, bread, boiled eggs, juice and coffe, but you can get a much better coffee and e.g. a sandwich in a cafeteria for 5 euros.
The location is average. It's not far from Acropolis, only a 10 minutes walk, but it's all uphill and it becomes annoying if you plan on staying for more than 1 day and spending time around Plaka, because it takes another 10 minutes to get there from Acropolis. I'm a backpacker, and I'm used to walking but that really became annoying, especially because I knew there are good hotels much closer for the same price.
In conclusion, if you have time to plan a bit in advance, find a hotel for the same price that's closer to the main attractions (Plaka and Acropolis).
