Astor Hotel : A stone's throw from Syntagma
Great location, just a stone's throw from Syntagma Square and in the heart of Athens.
The hotel is just a short walk to the Plaka / Acropolis Area and a host of eateries and food joints.
Shops selling artifaqcts /gift items and mementoes are also all quiet near.
The hotel roooms are comfortable, there is a bar which stays open till 11 at night, and a nice American buffet breakfast is available from 7 till 10.30 am in the morning.
Unique Quality: The Parthenon and the Acroplis and a major part of Athens is visible from the restaurant in the 10th floor and forms a great backdrop while having anice sumptious breakfast.

A good choice
Located in central Athens close to Syntagma Square. It is fully airconditioned and the rooms are well furnished.
The hotel roof top restaurant has superb views of the city. The rooms all have satellite TV.

Hotel with a view of the Acropolis
We stayed only one night on our way back home from Naxos and our flight to Budapest was the next afternoon. I enjoyed my stay as the bed was very comfortable. We were central to the whole lovely area were you could go out at night to the taverns or other places to eat and have an enjoyable time.
We took a taxi to the airport and shared with three of us, this took us just over half and hour and the price came to 12 euro each.
Unique Quality: We were on the sixth floor and our window looked out on the Acropolis which was beautifully lid up during the night.
The restaurant and roof garden is on the tenth floor and also has this wonderful view of the Acropolis. So an interesting and scenic breakfast is assured. (Excellent food also).
Also have a look at the floor in the Lobby of the hotel, it is a beautiful pattern of different colour of marble, very nice detail to this hotel.

Interesting choice
Five times I had stayed in the Astor. Is located at two blocks from the Syndagma Square, and five blocks from Plaka. The view from the balconies above the 4th story is wonderful, you have a perfect view of Acropolis. Roof garden and restaurant at the top.
The service is normal, it is not the best but there aren't nothing wrong to remarks, the building is oldie, but was refurbished in 98 or 99 more or less. The people always was kind with us, there are not complains.
Unique Quality: Excelent location in downtown Athens. Nice views from balconies.
