OMONIA SQUARE - visit here briefly to get a feel of the 'pulse' and 'beat' of Athens. 10. The ACADEMY of ATHENS- modern building made in Classical style, almost take you back to the time of Plato and Pericles. There are many. Far have I travelled , much have I seen , as the song goes. ATHENS was a delight to visit. I have many memories of this great city. Seeing the ACROPOLIS for the first time was one of those spine- tingling travel moments. But small things like the warmth of the Greek people, courtesy shown by indivduals, ( and the pretty women ! )The Plaka district is a beautiful place to stroll around, shop and I cannot think of many places to better it for a coffee or a meal with friends. Enjoy
