I have no idea what is supposed to be artsy about this place. There was nothing resembling art in my room. The public areas are decorated in style that can be best described as champagne taste, beer budget modern. I had read that the rooms toward the front that have a view are noisy, so I requested and got a room in the back that was quiet. Wonderfully quiet. Otherwise, the room and facilities were generally unremarkable and slightly tattered. The staff was generally helpful but there is no concept of concierge services for advice on many things like what to see and do, location of theaters, etc. There are no in house laundry facilities, the hotel gives directions to a laundry service/self service laundromat about 5 blocks away. I guess the price was ok, tho, a Greek friend thought it was expensive. The location is a bit away from the main tourist spots despite omonia square being 3 short blocks away. There is a feeling of being in a rougher neighborhood since the street scene is 'ethnic' lots of people who are non-greek.
For the traveler who does not expect much, this place delivers.
The staff are very kind, and the house very classic and special and clean. But they only have shampoo, body gel and ONE glass to brush your teeth. NO toothpaste, toothbrush...
Close to all sightseeings (800 m to Acropolis and 400m to university...) and near Omonia square (100 m), so very dangerous and dirty.
