Visit the Acropolis....
by cesargil
Visit the Acropolis. Overlooking the old district of Plaka, shining yellow from the sun, and contrasting with the modern Athens, it doesn´t seem real! I miss the young people socializing together in the cafeterias and restaurants at night. The greek people have all this joy of living.
Kolonaki
by OrlandoBR
Kolonaki is where you want to buy your apartment in Athens. It is very pleasant - a residential area in the steep terrain between Syntagma Square and the Lykavittos hill. The streets close to the Kolonaki Square seem to concentrate all the trendy shops, and between that and the funicular station (to go up the hill) you will do a lot of climbing. The place itself and the nice views over Athens will make the effort very worth it.
Internet Connection
by physiar
Internet Cafes are widespread in Athens. Most hotels also offer internet access, though usually at high rates.
&bTellas&b is teh only firm in Greece that offers free connection. Use 'tellas' for username and 'free' for password, and dial up a connection using 2111805000 from a mobile phone and 8015005000 from a landline.
CosmOTE and HOL are another two good and cheap providers.

THE ANCIENT CITY OF ATHENS is a photographic archive of the archaeological and architectural remains of ancient Athens (Greece). It is intended primarily as a resource for students of classical art & archaeology, civilization, languages, and history at Indiana University as a supplement to their class lectures and reading assignments and as a source of images for use in term papers, projects, and presentations. We also hope that this site will be useful to all who have an interest in archaeological exploration and the recovery, interpretation, and preservation of the past.
