Great hotel !!!

We stayed 2 nights at Fresh Hotel. We bookend one standard Double room and one executive double. The main difference between the rooms (other than the price) is an additional 2-3 square meters with a sofa and some fruit upon arrival.
The rooms are relatively small with very small storage place, the beds are nice and commutable, bathrooms are small with a shower only.
The hotel is designed very modern and contemporary. On the roof there is a nice air lounge with Wight sofas and expensive drinks (11 Euro for a cocktail…). You can see the Acropolis from this lounge; this lounge will be much nicer without 3 Hugh cellular antennas on the building adjacent to the hotel…
LOCATION – I've seen better hotel locations, the street of the hotel is very old and dirty, the neighbors of the hotel are some crappie shop, pet shop. The meat and fish market are very close… HOWEVER, the hotel is walking distance from all major shopping areas, and during the day it's easy and pleasant to get in and out of the hotel. at nights maybe a Taxi is a better option
Breakfast is GREAT! A huge variety that will not embrace a five star hotel.
I would defiantly recommend FRESH HOTEL; it’s a great combination of a modern design hotel, good service, relatively good location and very reasonable prices.
Natural feelings about my stay

A few weeks ago I stayed at the Fresh Hotel in Athens. I have natural feelings about my stay as it is considered a five star hotel and it does not keep up to this standards.
The interior design is good but not luxurious. The service is considered slow and not complete. They were not even offered to take my suitcases to the room.
The room service breakfast was basic too.
Overall, a pleasant experience but not up to a five stardard city Hotel.

We just returned from a trip to Athens where we stayed at the Fresh Hotel for 2 nights. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew this wasn't just any hotel. The lobby is chic and trendy. The man at reception greeted us and informed us of everything we needed to know. The rooms were immaculate and quite surprisingly sound proof, we could hardly hear what was going on outside even though our room overlooked the street. The hotel is within walking distance of all the main area's, Plaka, Acropolis etc. The hotel recommended we eat at Psiri which was just around the corner. The next day, when we asked for a map, they were apologetic about not giving it to us in the first place! The buffet breakfast was good, the fresh orange juicer is impressive. We have travelled all over the world and the hotel was a "Fresh" change.
Tres Chic Hotel in the heart of Athens

We only stayed at this hotel for 1 night, but it was fabulous. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and felt very much like a NY boutique hotel with a great balcony. It's very hip and the location is perfect. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back.

Stayed here for 4 nights in July. This was a brilliant hotel - very cool design and hip bathrooms. The included buffet breakfast is one of the best I've had anywhere. I also liked the free apples in the reception.
The crowning glory must be the rooftop bar, terrace and pool with amazing views and stylish furniture.
The staff provided excellent service and really knew their stuff, providing very sound advice.
The only slight niggle is that the rooms are a bit small, even by European standards. Don't bring too much luggage with you!
Would definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone who likes hip hotels in great locations.
Great modern hotel in the heart of Athens!

This hotel is brand new and very modern decor. The rooms are not huge, but the decor is very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is good too, especially the orange juice. It was the sweetest I had in greece and it comes out of a great machine as well! Close to many sights - the Plaka district and the Acropolis are just minutes away on foot.
Note - in Athens, the taxis to & from the airport are unpredictable. When we arrived, it cost us 21 euros and the way back was 30 euros. The difference is in the surcharge. The flat rate was about 13 euros both ways and then they just tell you what the "surcharge" is. Somewhat fishy but don't know what else you can do? I guess it's just luck of the draw.
Overall enjoyed the hotel very much. It's great value for $137 Euros and has a rooftop pool bar with great views of the city.

What a treat! A fabulous design hotel just steps from the Plaka with perfect service, the coolest of design details, and a superb rooftop bar/restaurant (and pool!) with an up close view of the Acropolis. Does it get much better than enjoying a nice drink with the sun setting on your right, the moon rising on your left, and the stones of the Parthenon glowing pink in the dying rays of the setting sun? And inside doesn't miss a beat either - the rooms are artistic, convenient and fun, featuring nice touches like flat panel televisions, pebbled balconies, comfortable beds, roomy bathrooms, and plenty of space. I can't wait to go back!

Hi - can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive hotel in a decent area for 3 nights in May? Was considering ART Hotel (not inexpensive) which got mostly good reviews.....?

Check the Attalos Hotel and the Cecil Hotel on Athinas Street. Also check the Pan, Arethusa, Amazon and the Metropolis Hotels on Mitropoleos Street. These are all within easy walking distance to the Plaka, Syntagma Square and the Acropolis.

The Art Hotel is a bit of a walk to various attractions. Closer still is the Fresh Hotel - http://www.freshhotel.gr. For around the same money you can get a room at the Adrian Hotel - http://www.douros-hotels.com/view_hotels.asp?hotel_id=2 - with a view of the Acropolis. OK not as funky but it is located in the Plaka, an excellent location for sightseeing. The Hotel Plaka - http://www.plakahotel.gr - is also very popular.
