The Holiday Inn Athens is perfect if you are just planning on sleeping in the room and want to bank a few priority club miles along the way. Otherwise, you may want to spend your hard-earned cash on a better hotel. For the money, it was not a great value. The worst part was the fact that the air conditioning, which the staff advised us was centrally controlled, was set rather high. Not a big deal, unless it's 95F and you just want to cool off.
Decent room service, though a bit pricey, was tasty and delivered quickly. The lobby is five-star, comfy, roomy, and inviting. But that all falls away as you enter the old elevators, and walk the halls (with disturbingly large room numbers on the walls) and into the 1970s era rooms.
