I found this hotel/hostel on hostelworld.com. It's a 20 minute walk from the Acropolis. We booked into a triple room for 33 euro, a single room with airconditioning I paid on a return visit was 30 euro. Go figure. The place was great and friendly. Breakfast included, if you like hard boiled eggs, sweaty ham and cheese slices, but the tea, the tea was decent. They also have a small bar in the reception where you can enjoy yourself till all hours.
Free internet 24hrs.
Nearby supermarkets, cafes, shops.
Hot water! (haha)
I stayed one night at the hotel pergamos and found it pretty good value for money.
The hotel is located a couple of blocks from Omonia square in a busy street.
We paid 45 euros for a twin room and that included breakfast.
There is also two computers at the hotel with free internet.
The room was basic but clean and had an ok bathroom.
Unique Quality: Cheap and central.
Directions: 5 minutes walk from omonia square, towards victoria square.
