THE TEMPLE OF OLYMPIAN ZEUS by LoriPori
Also known as the Olympeion, THE TEMPLE OF OLYMPIAN ZEUS is located on Amalias Avenue about 500 meters south-east of the Acropolis.
The Temple was built of marble from Mount Pentelus. It consisted of 104 Corinthean columns, each 17 meters high. Only 15 of these columns remain standing today.
