Hotel KIRKI: simple and cheap

We booked our room by calling 2 days in advance. It was early October so if you want to go during summer you have to call some days earlier. We payed 40e for a double room, a good price for an expensive island like Hydra, I guess the prices go up during high season.

We checked in early the morning (9.00am) so we we had all the time to spend the day on the island.

It is a simple guesthouse with medium size rooms, they don’t have any cozy decoration, it’s simply furnished but very clean and the room had a small TV, a tiny fridge and A/C are enough to rest for awhile. We had a balcony at the backyard which seemed nice (for taking breakfast) but we didn’t really use it but the view was nice (pic 3) and much quieter that the ones that facing the front alley.

It’s location, 2’ from the port makes it ideal. They don’t have breakfast facilities but you wont care as you are in walking distance for every café/restaurant in town.

Argo hotel, Hydra town.: Stunning harbour view.

My girlfriend had booked this place in advance (normally we just turn up on an island and hunt around) and it proved to be a very good choice.

Service was friendly, the room spotless and well-equipped and we had a lovely time there.

If you're staying at the hotel you also receive discount on any purchases at the restaurant / cafe downstairs.

The stairs are quite steep if your mobility is impaired at all.

The rate quoted is a room rate and not per person. We paid 50 euros per night, but this rises to 60 in high season.

Unique Quality: The view from the small balcony was stunning as it is right on the harbour (see photo). The direction it faces means there are great sunset views as well.
