Coming from Plaka for 7:25am ferry - best route to Piraeus?

We are four people with a lot of luggage. Our nearest metro station is Akropoli, which would mean changing lines twice in order to get to the green line to Piraeus. I doubt we could get all four of us with luggage into one taxi (but if we do, what should it cost?). Any recommendations on how we should do this?

From the Plaka it is about 20 euros, but there are surcharges like luggauge, late night pickup, hotel call pickup.with four people and lots of lugguage I would find a big taxi,(minivan) to pick you up to the port. I say 50 euros is plenty for four people with so much luggage. I would not take the metro with a lot of lugguage and I doubt the stations are open early enough for you to get to the port. Try reserving a taxi a t a fix price. Tell them the time, people, luggage. Good luck Tommy x

If you are staying overnight in Athens get your hotel to organise a taxi for you. Most hotels have an arrangement with their preferred taxi company and can usually give you an agreed price and reliable pick-up.

Visit the Archeological Museum of Pireaus. The museum was found in 1935 and the extension of the new museum was carried out in 1966.You can see the followings inside the museum:


Dedicatory reliefs of the 5th and 4th centuries B.C. from Piraeus.
A statue of the Mother of the Gods (4th century)
Hellenistic and Roman sculptures from Pireaus
Pottery from excavations in Pireaus and Salamis
Bronze statues of the classical period of Pireaus

Working hours: every day from 8.30-15.00. Monday:closed
Location: 31, Ch. Trikoupi str
The picture shows a bronze statue of Athena (4th century B.C.)

"Home Sweet Home"

Aside from the fact that my father is from here, I feel that soul belongs to this land. Just a block away is the Pasalimani where some of the world most amazing yachts are parked. I get to walk down to the marina, pick up a starbucks and stare into the sea. I swear its smiling back at me as well. I only wish i could live here all year long but duty calls and NYC seams to find its way to bring me back.
The city is lively with its bustling outdoor cafes and its on the water seafood resturants- AHH the simple things in life! Just check out my breakfast nook...
