San Giorgio: Beautiful Views
We stayed Bed and Breakfast at the San Giorgio on our second visit to the Island. The Hotel is situated on a elevated position overlooking the sea on the main beach road into Poros. The Hotel was very clean and this was maintained by the cleaners daily. The apartments are fully equipped with fridge, shower and telephone. Some of them (Family) have a living room, most have a private balcony or veranda. The San Giorgio consists of rooms for 2, 4 or 6 persons and all with air conditioning. The owners were very friendly and could always be seen around the Hotel and joined in the activities that were going on. The hotel is situated on a hill so probably not recommended for anyone with walking difficulties. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone but would warn people who have walking difficulties that it is a steep climb to some of the apartments and would definately stay there if and when we go to Kefalonia again for our Holidays
The Hotel overlooks a magnificant gulf near the Scala area. The hotel is built at the foot of a mountain and has breathtaking views of both the mountain and the sea. The Ionion sea is only 50 metres from the complex. There are two lovely big swimming pools one with a childrens paddling area next to it. Sun beds and umbrellas are plentiful and there is a poolside bar and Cafeteria where you can purchase some lovely meals (snacks) during the day. It also has a restaurant where you can your evening meal.

Makis Studios: Ideal Location
The Makis Studios are situated in an ideal location just off the top of the main street in Skala, set on on an incline 700 metres from the long beach , therefore may not be suitable for people with walking difficlulties. The studios are ideally suited for holidaymakers to soak up the atmostphere of a typically greek village. The studios are cleaned daily and sheets and towels changed every day and I believe they now all have air conditioning installed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend them
The family run Makis Studios are small and friendly. There is a lovely pool with plenty of sunbeds where you can spend lazy hazy days soaking up the sun in a peaceful location. There is a poolside bar where you can get snack meals and drinks

Makis Apartments: Makis Apartments
Where to start? The views were breathtaking with the Island of Ithaka just across the bay.
We stayed in apartment 24 overlooking the pool, the staff were very friendly and the cleaners did a brilliant job of keeping the place clean and tidy.
There is air conditioning at an extra charge of 5euros a day (well worth it) temps got to 40degrees while we were there.
Fantastic views across the bays with seas so blue, even bluer than the swimming pool.
The pool was a nice size pool and the water temp in the pool was perfect.
You have two balcony's one front and one back, the back being a little on the small size and the one at the front being a nice large size with table and four chairs.
There is even a wind down blind over the balcony.

Nine Muses Hotel, Scala: Affordable Luxury!
This wonderful small hotel / complex consists of 38 air-conditioned rooms, 8 fully equipped studios plus 2 luxury suites with jacuzzis! I stayed in one of the studios and could not fault the cleanliness and facilities of the whole complex.
It is 2 minutes down the driveway to the very long sandy beach, and a 10 minute stroll to the town centre with a good selection of quality tavernas / restaurants.
The gardens are tended daily and the abundance of plants and flowers are a delight.
All the staff (Greek and English) were very helpful and friendly.
Be warned, this hotel gets booked very quickly. In England, First Choice Travel Company are the sole agents, but you can book direct with the hotel. I have noticed that recently the prices have increased considerably - obviously due to the excellent reputation it has built up since opening in 1999.
The pool is a very good size with a lovely sunbathing area. It could do with being bigger as I hate to say, it was a 'grab a sunbed EARLY or go without' kind of place. There is a nice grassed area to lay flat out on though!
There is a restaurant but not directly attached. This is where guests on a board basis ate. We went there once soon after arriving, but I don't recall it being that special - we ate in the town every night for the rest of the holiday.

Villa Nerina: Secluded Villa
This beautiful luxury Villa is situated between Svoronata and Sarlata. It has got to be the best holiday accommodation I have ever stayed in while on holiday on any of the Greek Islands. We have been to Kefalonia 3 times now and previous to staying here we have also stayed in nice apartments but Villa Nerina wins hands down as favourite. The Villa is set on three floors with two double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom each with ensuite shower rooms. There is an open plan living room/dining/kitchen area. The kitchen is fitted with oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher. There is a large dining area and the lounge area with leather sofas, tv, dvd and cd player. On the lower floor there is a utility room with washing machine, iron and ironing board. Also on the lower ground floor there is two double sofa beds, tv, cd player, playstation and a pool table. This floor is ideal if you have teenagers with you. The owners Sharon and Steve Osbourne have thought of everything to make you feel very welcome in their holiday home, they even provided a welcome pack for when we first arrived and I would like to say a big thank you to them for letting us stay here for our holiday in June 2008. I would highly recommend this Villa to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with their family. We went the first week of June and we paid £1000,00 which for eight of us worked out at £150 each

A Dorizata love shack...
My girlfriend and me found a place to stay in the small village of Dorizata. We found it through Linda and Stuart, an English couple that intermediate via their website. www.kefalonia4us.netfirms.com
They are very nice and are sure to find you something nice. They found us the loveliest house we?ve ever seen, a place we completely fell in love with.
it was a shack converted to a small house. It had its own sunny terrace, a garden with oranges and grapes and a swing for our son and an owner who brought us fresh fruit EVERY DAY.
It was basic, but definitely the best and most romantic place I've ever stayed in.

white rocks: best hotel on the island
This is a hotel which i would say is a sliver service for evening meals. you can book a hotel room or a chalet room.
f you would like to eat out at night you can have your evening meal at lunch time instead.
All the staff are friendly, you can even learn greek from them.
The hotel has a great pool area which has a nice bar area where you can eat a mid day snack in the shade.

Memmi Rooms: On the Main Road
A basic room in central Skala. Little did we know that the local bus, dustbin lorry and every other vehicle in the area would travel down this road at 6am.!!!
Another problem was the owner using a chain-saw on the roof above us. Not the most peaceful of rooms.
Michael wasn't used to a shower so every evening we would fill his paddling pool and put it on the balcony and wash him in there. Very successful!!! We would have our pre-dinner drinks and watch him playing in the water.
These rooms did share a kitchen but I don't remember using it.
Close to village amenities and beach.

Nine Muses Hotel, Scala: Swimming Pool, Nine Muses Hotel, Scala, Kefalonia
This is a really lovely large sized swimming pool, complete with whirlpool . Stake your place early around it though if you want a sunbed and parasol!

As you can see - the view from the pool is across the sea! A short stroll out of the complex takes you to the beach.

CHRISTINA STUDIOS: Accomodation One Step Away from the Sea!
I was lucky to find availability only 2 days before my arrival at the beautiful island of Cefalonia.
I would recommend Christina Studios for those who seek a quiet place to stay, and at the same time want to be close to more "cosmopolitan" places, such as Skala, Lassi, etc.
If you don't own a car or you are not planning to rent one, Lourdas Beach is full of picturesque taverns down by the beach or some 100m up on the hill. Prices are very reasonable, especially at the 'Blue Sea' tavern, where food is divine! (Tip: try to go where you see more Greeks than foreigners)
Our neighbours where of all "kinds": families, couples, groups of friends.
All 14 studios are brand new (built 2 years ago), very CLEAN and fully-equipped. (If only I knew that beforehand, I wouldn't have carried sheets, towels and cutlery with me!).
They all had a spacious balcony with views on the beach, where you can enjoy your frappe-coffee, while gazing at the sunset. What's worth is that each balcony is private and you have no contact with the neighbours!
Inside our studio there was a wall-mount television set, air-conditioning, spacious closet (incl. safe), fridge, kitchen (clean cutlery, pots and pans, even chopping board and colander!)
The garbage is taken out every day, while the rooms are cleaned (incl. change of sheets and towels) every three days or earlier if necessary.
The owners, Mrs Christina and Mr. Gerassimos are very friendly, polite, and always at your service whenever you need them. It is obvious that they care more about having happy and satisfied guests, and less about making a fortune.
Here comes the best part:
The beach is only one step away! Clean turquoise blue waters , white sand, not very crowded. A real beauty!
here is a website , but also try to google "christina studios"+cefalonia, and you'll find better pictures.

San lorenzo village: One of the best self catering places around on kef
San Lorenzo has about 45 apartment all nicely place around a large pool. The views are second to nun. The area is very quite and only a short walk from the taverna and the main area. The sunset are a picture waiting to be taken.
The pool area is more than enough for the amount of poeple that can stay at the place.
If you get hungry there is a bar and catering service on hand.

Tara Beach Hotel: Hotel in Skala
Tara Beach is a very pretty hotel which in Greece terms is reasonably basic. However it has everything we needed but don't go there if you expect a TV and DVD on tap.
Breakfast was a very basic affair but if you wanted to you could go into Skala which was a 5 minute walk and get a more substantial breakfast. The plus point was that breakfast was served on a lovely sunny terrace overlooking the sea.
If we went back to Skala again, we would stay there because it was a very welcoming hotel and ideally located for all the restaurants and bars as well as the beach which is just over a very quiet road.
Very pretty and great location.

George's: George's place
Only 5 mins from the airport but not noisy as there didnt seem many flights whilst we were there in August. Great atmosphere in the bar downstairs people came from miles around to visit George, espescially at the weekend it gets very crowded with locals.
Very nice clean ans spacious rooms, better rooms on the back as they have larger balconies. No pool but you had use of two others in walking distance.

Angela Studios: Lourdas
We had a very pleasant stay at the Angela Studios right at the beach.
The studios were very basic, very clean and serviced regularly.
No pool, as we don't need one anyway being right at the beach.
