Where the pine trees meet the beach
"Skala"
Skala is located on the southern tip of Kefalonia approximately 37km from Argostoli. It is mainly a tourist destination aimed at families and couples, so nightlife wise it consists of restaurants and music bars - no nightclubs here (yet)! Along the main street there are plenty of restaurants to chose from along with small supermarkets to get provisions.
The main draw for Skala is the wonderful beach consisting of sand and shingle which stretches for miles and which is backed by pine trees. The lovely thing about the beach is that you can always find a private area to sunbathe, if you are willing to walk along the shoreline.
Skala is also good for walkers as the surrounding countryside is beautiful and you can also find a Roman mosaic.
