Chania Bus Stationnext stop on the way to Elafonissi
Next stop would be M. Chryssoskalitissas monastery. It is located between Stomio and Elafonisi, you can see it from teh road. We went there right before sunset on our way back and it was a great experience. The Ortodox priest was just giving a mass and since there is nobody around the church has a loud speakers mounted around it so the sound of the sea, birds, mountain wind and ortodox mass was just incredible. There is also a small museum you can visit showing life on Crete and local crafts.
When you walk around the property and stick your nose everywhere you will came across a small outhouse located north west of the church. It is a bathroom with a hole in the floor. When you look inside of that hole you will see a SEA about 100 meters down. It is some way to get rid of your waste and perhaps ....some heavy siners...
