Platia 1866
Platia 1866 is - for me - the central spot of Chania. Maybe that's because I always start my walk from the bus station and then cross Platia 1866 on my way to Halidon or Market.
The square is a busy place but also a fine spot for a short rest or a snack in the shadow of a palm tree.
In the morning Platia 1866 serves as gathering point for temporary workers waiting to be hired for a couple of hours or days. I was a bit scared to find myself in the companion of those large buddies but they were quite calm and didn't seem to likely become violent.
