Total experience

I visited the Louis Creta Princess Hotel in Crete in 2002, high season. All my family went and us kids range from different ages 2, 8, 13 and 15. We each enjoyed the experience very much as the entertainment, activites and resort were amazing. The holiday reps from First Chiose, Eclipse were great, the kept us busy and helped us bond very well. Teenagers from different parts of the UK, and they did such a great job we are still in touch today. The pool is huge and the night life was thrilling. The animation team of that time were a great laugh and sent us to bed with smiles, they kept us smiling all the holiday. Anyway to sum up my review its definatly a hotel to stay in and a great atmosphere!!!!! Wish i could go again!

We are just back from our third trip to the Louis Creta Princess and are going again in September. The hotel is very easy going and the staff are extremely friendly. The rooms are basic but spotless, there is no need to get up at five to grab a sunlounger as there are plenty for everyone. The animation team are great with everyone in particular the children. The food is good always a few vegetarian main courses and its there when you want it, drinks on tap too. The hotel is a ten minute taxi run for the nearest village but I never found the need to leave. I will say its not for a young crowd looking for fun or a young couple on their own, its family orientated, even the disco would be no good for 16's and above as the kids can go. Well worth a fourth visit for us!
Absolutely Fantastic !!!!!

This place is fantastic !!!!! My wife, 2 children (10 & 12 years) and I have just returned having spent a tremendous 2 weeks here. Despite what some other reviews have said we felt the food was very good with a at least 4 -5 main meal choices every night. The lunchtime pizza's cooked to order were so popular that there would always be a short queue, but well worth the wait, and pizzas were just one of the lunctime choices!!! A full English or continental breakfast gave a great start to the day.
I don't think we've ever eaten so much.
The all inclusive drinks were also very well organised. Admittidly the local brands are not the strongest (except the Ouzo & Raki BEWARE !!!), but considering the heat and that this is a family hotel you really don't want lots of drunken people staggering around the place anyway. The ability for you and your children to just help themselves to what they want when they want is well worth it.
The bungalow rooms we stayed in were very clean, cool and quiet. They are compact, but very well planned out. My children were in bunk beds which did take up more space, but not once did we feel cramped or to be falling over each other.
And now to the best bit.
The pools and general facilities are excellent, but what really makes the difference is the Animation / Entertainment Team .
This is headed by Lorenzo and consists of Peppe, Fabiano, Steven, Jessica, Julia, Katja and Patricia. All are Italian except Steven who is Swiss. These guys are great and all speak good passable English. Normally we don't get to involved with the acivities, prefering just to lie in the sun, but before we knew it they had us all playing Water Volley, Beach Volley, Water Polo, Archery, Boules and the infamous Cocktail Game, all of which were great fun and highly recommended.
Watching Peppe's beaten Water volley team parade round the pool pretending to be "Chickens" is a sight I will long remember.
The Animation Team also provided an excellent array of evening shows and entertainment (most of which I believe were directed by Lorenzo, who is a true genius) and of which their poolside "Fire" show and "Mr Creta Princess" male beauty pageant are ones not to be missed.
All in all a fantastic holiday and we just can't wait to go back next year.
Great holiday location...superb animation team

Just returned from a week's stay at the Creta Priness in Maleme with my husband and five year old son. First time for us on an all-inclusive basis which proved great value for money with a wide selection of good food available throughout the day - my young son loved the child-high buffet bar, making him feel all grown up!! We stayed in a 'bungalow' beside the pool area - rooms were basic, but very clean and great location for wandering back and forth to the beach and pools. Must give a special mention to the hugely talented Animation team including Lorenzo, Pepe and Stefan - amazing nightly entertainment from this bunch and so hardworking during the day, organising games, activities etc. Worth hiring a car due to the location of the hotel - Lake Kournas is a must - tho Chania is easily accessible on the hotel's courtesy bus. Also good waterpark within easy reach - worth a day's visit with the kids. All round good holiday venue.
Not really one for couples

Have just returned from holiday at this hotel and thought it may be useful for anyone considering going there that do not have any children. This is a predominantly family hotel - it caters mainly for children and it is great if you want to relax and the kids can pretty much do their own thing and you get to enjoy yourselves. However on the other hand it is noisy both day and night and if you are a couple you would find this a tad annoying I think.
Food was average - salad bar was good but other things were a bit hit and miss. Rooms were basic but clean but beds were very uncomfortable and hard. Animation team can be annoying at times as they pester you all day to join in the "fun and games" (again this is where the kids bit comes into its own). Evening entertainment was not the best but if you are looking for a bargain break and can get a late deal on this one you would be pleased. I would not pay the full price for a holiday there though. Overall it was a cheap break that was nice and clean but not really my choice of hotel.

We went to the Louis Creta Hotel, Chania in July 2004 for a week. The hotel itself was pretty good but the brochure stated "a beach lover's paradise" - well the beach was awful - very pebbly and tatty. The all-inclusive was well run but we were amazed that we had to pay 10 euros each for pool towels which weren't even replaced every day!! If you are going here, take your own towels.
The pool was excellent and the food was adequate.
All in all we've been to much better 4 * hotels with better food, and facilities.
