We had way too short a time for Chania, less than a complete day, but we did manage to enjoy a stroll along the "U" shaped port with its breakwater and lighttower. The port is lined with restaurants of course and the area was crowded even in October....
The nearby streets of the old town that surround the port were a delight with many small cafes where could enjoy the shade and quiet (these are pedestrian streets only, no cars....
Of course if you like shopping, it is worth visiting the covered market where you will find lots of things at your fingertips. We even tried out this sampler of canned fish products.
