Miscellaneous Tips, Prefecture of Elia

We stumbled across this gem of accommodation in Neochori, 5kms. south of Zacharo on the coast. We were desparate for a room one year when we toured the Peloponnese in a car and arrived at this place by following a sign from the main road. It was a block of unfinished apartments which we discovered belonged to the local priest. We were the only people here and our apt. looked out over the owners' small-holding It was rural bliss and we were made to feel very much at home here.

Every day we would return from our day out and find at least 6 cucumbers, fresh eggs (from their chickens) lemons and home brewed wine awaiting us. We had never eaten so many cucumbers in so short a time!!!!!
One of the nicest things about this accommodation was watching our hosts in their small-holding, picking camomile, rounding the chickens up or whatever. Totally relaxing.
For this 1 bedroomed apartment we paid the enormous sum of 5500 drx. a night. Those were the days, eh???
