Had a wonderful stay at villa Bellevue, friendly- family .atmosphere
The view from the hotel is one of the best views in the whole Crete. The hotel is built in 7000square meters of lush greenery of palm , olive , lemon and hibiscus trees . The elevated garden area provides plenty of space for guests to move around in .
Clean rooms, fresh clean bed linen. And something that is very important and special a large Swimming pool ..
A very big swimming pool und great view
Having finally escaped the hedonistic madness of Euromeet 2007 (and the preceding sailing trip), having said my farewells to Gala and Allan at Athinios (over a beer of course!) I needed just to get away by myself for a day or two, catch up on some sleep and regain a bit of personal space.
Happy and more than a little exhausted I arrived here on Crete about 8 pm with nothing pre-arranged - in fact I hadn't even finally decided on Crete until the ferry arrived at Athinios!
Leaving the port at Heraklion in search of a bed for the night, I spotted a couple of plush-looking hotels up towards the right from the dock gates and so headed that way. As I drew up the plush looked definitely PLUSH $$$$!!! Right in the middle, however, was this little place; a little shabbier than its posher neighbours and missing an odd letter or two from its signage but presentable enough.
In I went to inquire - "A room sir? Yes I have a lovely room, a room with a view!" the absolutely charming concierge? owner? informed me. She really was a grand old dame and upon finding out it was only 40 Euro and I was tired and she really was a charmer of the highest order I booked for 2 nights.
Not disappointed at all - OK it's a little careworn (a bit like me then!), but scrupulously clean. It's on the flightpath from the airport and the double glazing isn't that great - but I can sleep through anything! It mayhaps not suit everyone but I'd stay here again :)
Room certainly did have a view and yes did have a definite Cat C character, plumbing was quirky and A/C just didn't happen! I just loved the Grande Dame and it is people who make places and the bed was so comfortable, sleep I did and well (2 nights in a row of perfect sumbulence - HA! That's not a proper word is it?).
Breakfast was offered for about 5 Euro but I passed on that and the place does have quite a nice little bar, which I also passed on but both are there should you wish.
Nowt wrong with this place at all!
"Service was outstanding, rooms were kept spotless,if you look under the bed the will find a sign that says: "We do clean under here too". you have a free safe on board, hair dryer, fridge, Air Conditioning,Queen sized bed,Telephone, and Balcony with table and loungers.
The good thing about having a balcony was the fact that you didn't have to fight over loungers, and on the top deck was the usual selfish people leaving towels on loungers to reserve them.
Despite notices saying that if they were left for half an hour they would be removed by staff,it was evident that this was not happening.
But then the ship is only at sea for One whole day in a 7day period,so normally would not be a problem.
Facilities to name a few: Jacuzzi x 4 (Top Deck)
Two swimming pools + a kiddies pool at the rear.
Karma Spa (we didn't use it)
Cyber Internet cafe (connections very slow)
It seems like hostel or so, there are rooms, toilets and showers are common and the receptionist's seat is on big terrace on 4th floor :) really funny till u get there.
Clean and great terrace there with a nice view
right in downtown
Cosy hotel but on the busy street of Herakleion, so keep that on mind. If you sleep like a log everything is ok. :) You should fall asleep when watching Greek TV :)
There is a TV, shower and climatisation included in the price. It is near the center, just around 5 min walking to Morosini fountain and the bus stop is right in front of hotel. So there is good connection to airport by bus.
Though it is listed as B class hotel, it looks more like more of a D class.
It was quite clean, but it is quite old, it has limited variaty of goods for breakfast.
I would not recomend it for a long stay there. Finaly the price is not the best offer, but is quite low.
We stayed at the Rethymna Beach Hotel, that belongs to the Grecotel group.

A large luxurious hotel (over 500 rooms and bungalows), but it never felt crowdie !
One extremely large pool and three smaller (!) pools make that you never can get overheat.
Our brochure said that the hotel is situated on a sandy beach, but my opinion of sand is slightly different from what we saw there : gravel !
But that is for sure the only disadvantage.
The food was superb, the best we ever got in a hotel, the staff extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms quiet. What more can one want to start a holiday ?
Dont't believe me ? Please take a look !
Large clean rooms, mine even had an armoire. There is a roof garden and quiet bar. Since you have to walk up four flights of stairs to check in you might as well enjoy a beer before heading back down to your room. My room was overlooking a pedestrian street. Noise from the bars next door might keep you awake if you are a light sleeper.
When you are in CHANIA it is preferable to avoid staying downtown and drive a few klm. to the west heading to...Agious Apostolous, Kidonia,Agia Marina, Platania... where you are going to find a hotel room, house, apartement, studio or camping area next to the seaside, with perfect view, athletic/sport activities beach bars, discos e.t.c.
Nostos Hotel, right by the old port of Chania. Great place and great location.
Great service especially ask for Polina, she works at reception desk. Very friendly person.
