Ice Factory in Iraklio, nearby the harbor, situated at a little square with the terrace underneath the trees. It looks like a little French cafe, and when you go inside its a very modern cafe/restaurant. Very friendly staff, (sometimes too friendly) We were told its a place were the 'important' people from Crete eat. We did see a lot of businessmen/women overthere and not a lot of tourists (thankfully). the moussaka was lovely
IEREPETRA

Ierapetra the nymph of the Libyan Sea is the most Southern City of Greece and all of Europe.
It is also the most populous town of the prefecture of Lassithi. Its climate is very mild and there is very little rain. If the place of the modern town of Ierapetra there was in the old days a very famous town called Kyrva. There are many traditions about its building. Its builder Kyras was one of the Telchiew and came from Rhodes with Rea according to Mythology.
Later on this town was named Pytna then Kamoros and finally Ierapetna.
Ierapetra is a very modern town with a boasting economy because of its hot African Climate it became a big center for the production of many vegetables and the precious olive oil.
First Stop in Crete

"A Busy, Dirty, Exciting City"
The first glimpse of Crete for many travelers is the port or the airport of Heraklion (Iraklio). Both are dirty, busy, dusty, and generally uninviting; most travelers will tell you to spend as little time as possible here. I might agree. Stlll, Iraklio is not without its charms.
