More about Pefkos Beach Hotel
You won't be disappointed at Pefkos Beach Hotel
We have just had a brilliant two weeks in a self catering 1 bed apartment here. We booked based on great reviews on this site and found everything exceeded our expectations, including the number of steps up the hill to the top apartments. The plus side of 2 flights of 27 steps was we didn't feel guilty about all the ice cream we ate!
We had room 152, which has a fantastic view from the balcony.
We made great use of the 4 (2 toddler, +2 big) swimming pools, ate in the on-site Nostalgia restaurant (fantastic salmon linguine) shopped at the on-site Mingos supermarket (best prices) and were thoroughly impressed with the way all parts of this hotel were run. The children's play area and aviary of canaries kept our 3 year old happy, the prices in the bar and giant projector (watch the football projected onto the side of the hotel, massive!) kept my husband happy, and if they were happy so was I!
We took taxis to Lindos for a family wedding and were so chuffed to find we had the better beach in Pefkos, fine, clean sand, never busy.
We really enjoyed the Jasmine Cafe Bar, which has a large securely fenced astroturf play area with 'little tikes' equipment and plenty of seats where we could drink cocktails and watch our daughter make friends.
The only downside was the night we ate at 'Zorbas' a fixed price DUMP next to the brilliant 'Roumelis'. Zorbas had dirty glasses, dirty toilets, rude incompetent staff and a cook who only managed a rare steak at the 3rd attempt. We were so disappointed, especially when, after listening to our complaints, the owner's son first threatened to call the police and then tried to eject us, but when we got back to the Pefkos Beach Hotel the friendly staff soon cheered us up. If you want a fixed price set menu type place, Roumelis on the corner is 1000x better than Zorbas the DUMP. Other great restaurants were tsepsis, enigma (sit upstairs on balcony) pane di capo (lunch and breakfast and amazing ice cream) and the Greek House. The Tsambikos above the bakery was a steep walk up the hill, lovely service and a great view.. In Lindos, the last taverna before you get to the RH end of the beach by the boat jetty does the best gyros plate EVER!!
Like the previous review, we took the glass bottom boat ride to Lindos, and it was great. We got a taxi home, cheaper than the return boat ride and more convenient.
If you are looking for a family holiday with toddlers or young children, Pefkos would be a great choice.
holiday of a lifetime.
I stayed at Pefkos Beach Hotel with my parents in July this year and i loved every minute of it. We booked through Thomson who were professional and great from start to finish! The rooms were emaculate, the staff could not do enough for you and as for the area well wow i mean what more could you ask for, less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and bars/resturants as soon as you step out of the resort. The night life was pretty good specially eclipse bar but there was nothing better than staying at the pool side bar with friends you make and the fantastic and slighly cheeky staff!! I have already booked up to go with 2 girls i met on this holiday in October this year. highly recomended.
Stayed at Pefkos Beach Hotel June/July - well equipped clean rooms - stayed on the hill with fabulous views, really worth the walk up and down. Some of the hotel clients couldnt quite make the walk up the hill, hence the line of parked cars half way up ! Perhaps a sign of 'who ate all the burgers' - which was the average fare, served with a plateful of chips as and when required. Staff very attentive, easy going and pleasant. Pool areas too busy and noisy with kids using the larger pools and not the allocated children's area. Clientele consisted of who had the biggest tattoo and who could smoke the most cigarettes in one day! Nicer/quieter pool areas nearby as well as the beach!
Excellent for the 2nd year running!
This was our 2nd visit to The Pefkos Beach Hotel in Rhodes. Everything was excellent! We spent 2 weeks at this resort in September 2006 and returned with my parents this year for 1 week. To our amazement all the staff remembered us even down to my son's favourite ice cream!
I can not fault this resort, the staff are lovely very friendly and helpful and excellent service. The accomodation is clean, modern and good central location. The restaurants in Pefkos are lovely we have not had a bad meal. The best restaurant by far for both food and service is Nostalgia (Resort Restaurant). Make sure you try the Stuffed Plums as a starter!
We will definitely return to this resort maybe even next year for a week in Autmn.
Second time in Pefkos - first at Pefkos Beach Apts. Would not hesitate in booking to stay here again. The apartments & pool area spotlessly clean and good food served at pool bar. Staff superb at pool area and at Palm Bar & Nostalgia restuarant (excellent food) at front of apartments.
Pefkos village hasn't changed much in 4 yrs, which is nice to see.... Brilliant for families, plenty of tavernas and bars. Pay a visit to the "Eclipse" to keep teenagers amused !
A brilliant time was had by all !!
Party ages: 43, 40, 42, 39, 16, 15, 14, 12.
even better than 10 years ago
just came back after a week here. great room overlooking pool. the air conditioning was good as there was a heatwave while we were there.we came here 10 years ago and apart from getting bigger it was just as good. the same people running it and helping there. would definately go again.
Stayed here based on a recommendation and have to say it did not really live up to my expectation.
The room was average, clean etc...however it cost us 110 euro for 2 weeks air con that was not wonderfully powerful or indeed air con!
Phillip (the son I think) kindly sorted this out and the temperature improved.
The Palm Bar appears to be run by other son Kostas who appears only to be interested in getting your cash from your pocket to his as fast as possible. The other bar staff at Palm Bar are all polite, fun & entertaining.
The Nostalgia restaurant above Palm Bar is perhaps one of the worst hotel restaurants I have ever eaten in (yes ever).
Luckily Pefkos has lots to offer and we simply used the hotel to sleep/shower etc.....................yes I would stay at this hotel again but give the bar & restaurant a full body swerve and enjoy the beach & fabulous restaurants in Pefkos/ Lindos.
We had a very nice one week stay at these apartments. The apartment was the best we have had in several holidays to the Greek islands. The cleaner came 6 days out of 7, clean towels each time and the bed was changed twice during the week. The cleaner even left a vase with flowers for us one day! Having a tv was also a bonus when you have a 6 year old who at times can't take the heat. The hotel was quiet and there was plenty of space and sunbeds around the pool. Ate only once at Nostalgia restaurant, was very, very disappointed. They were catering for 2 weddings that night so perhaps they had taken their eye off of the ball but other customers should not suffer because of that.
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a small laid back resort I think you would find everything you want here.
good location & hotel
There were 6 of us staying at this hotel, 4 adults and 2 teens, on first arrival we were impressed with the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel, which was to continue, very clean. We had an apartment by the pool which we were greatfull for, as some are up a hill, but they had a fantastic lift to take you up and down, great for mobility probs, but the resort itself is quite hilly, so be prepared. The restaurants in the whole resort have basically the same menu, but we found the food very good in all, the Nostalgia restaurant at the hotel is very good and the pool bar serves food until 5pm, and is basic but good. There are 4 swimming pools, although the forth is a tiny wee thing for babies, so really 3 pools. It was October we were there and the water in the pool was FREEZING, no exageration. The sea was warmer, but that might have been the time of the year but doubt it. Pools clean and not busy (due to above I may add) The teens loved this placed as busy as you wanted it to be or as quiet, as the rooms have a movie channel so if they were tired they waited in at night to watch a film, or surf the net..(yes even on holiday)
To finnish off, we as a group spoke and the conclusion was, Yes we would defo recommend this hotel, nice, clean, fun and great location. And will if going to Rhodes again, go back.
weather and stuff
I am heading for Pefkos on October the 17th. I know it's late in the season so I wondered what the weather is actually like...? Wil it rain often etc.
Also what are the bars and restaurants like?
Any info would be great.
Staying at the Pefkos Beach Studios so anything about them too please
