My favorite hotel in greece is on the island of ZAKYNTHOS. its called the hotel ALEXANDRA BEACH!
Please E mail them for an up-to-date price. This hotel has just been renovated to a high standard and in my view should be a 4 star.Crowds are not a problem because of the location and there's regular entertainment including barbies and greek dancing which is perfik for making yourself look a proper prat.My wife says i look like a prat all the time,anyway where was i,Oh yes the hotel has a lovely pool where you can swim or drown the wife or theres the lovely beach down a few steps where you can also drown the wife.There is one drawback with this hotel, the views are stunning but the walk up a very steep to get there is not.So if you are old or bone idle like me forget it.So there you are the hotel alexandra beach,i hope you like it.PS i still got the wife.

"The island of Thassos, Greece"

The island of Thassos is located in the North East Aegean group of islands.

It doesn't have an airport (the locals apparently rejected proposals for one, for fear of the island becoming overrun by tourist developments), but can be reached by a short ferry journey from the mainland port of Keramoti, or by hydrofoil from the town of Kavala.

Thassos Town (or Limenas) is the pleasant capital of the island, not yet over-commercialised, but with more than enough tavernas, bars and shops.

The town is set against a backdrop of spectacular mountains, and a morning walk into the mountains is highly recommended (pine trees provide much-needed shade on the climb up) with fantastic views of the town from the top.

The town itself has a small beach, largely frequented by locals, and a number of small coves. However, there is a regular boat service to more impressive beaches at Makryammos, Chryssi Ammoudia and Skala Potamias.

"Sea gulls"

They follow you everywhere! When you get one the ferry to Thassos, be sure to bring some crackers, as the sea gulls will be all over you, hungry and insatiable!
They are so BEAUTIFUL and playful!

This is a lonely sea gull at the deserted beach where we spent most of our time.

"Papalimani beach"

Usually we were on the small, deserted beach next to this one, but Papalimani is almost private as well.
Once we saw two people making love at Papalimani in the late afternoon, as they remained the last on the beach, and they didn't care if anybody could come and see them!
