Maistrali Studios: decent room option on northern shore
The place is run by a friendly couple who live on site, Olympia and Thanassis. The room was a bit tight and included a small kitchen. The whole place was very clean. Each room has a small patio with a table and chairs to sit outside. Everything is on the ground floor. The slightly annoying detail was the lack of a good shower which lead to a soaked bathroom floor after use. (Unfortunately, not too uncommon in rooms to let in Greece).
'Maistrali' is located right next to the main road which means there's some car noise. The rooms on the opposite side (towards the beach) might be quieter.
Very close (walking distance) from beaches overlooked by evergreen and olive trees.
There's secure parking on the grounds since the driveway gate gets locked at around midnight.
Pretty, well-kept garden offers a cool shade.

Nostos Studios: Golden Beach's best studios
Our apartment was bright, well equipped, spacious, clean, and above all because we booked directly with the owners, included the safe and air conditioning. Most guests come back here year after year and I can see why. All of the apartments face east or south, so get the sun for a good portion of the day, the gardens are green, flowery and lovely to sit in, with views of the mountains (and the sea from the upper apartments). There is a bar area, reasonably priced drinks, helpful and friendly service. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone, and will go back ourselves, we only found one other place in the resort where we would happily stay, but it would still be second best to Nostos.
Nostos is the Greek word for "homecoming". It couldn't be more appropriate.
The owners! What a great bunch of people they are. It's family run, the all live on site so any problems are ironed out straight away, and above all they remember everyone who has been there before, and greet them like long lost friends. It's more like a home from home than a holiday, and I have never relaxed so quickly before. Didn't want to leave, even though the weather was too hot for me. I miss them all already, that's how nice they are. And they all speak English, but will teach you Greek too, which is more fun than it sounds!

Vera Lili Apartments: Absolutely Wonderful
The Vera Lilli Apartments are a 20 minute walk from the centre of Thassos Town. Fotos is always on hand to help with Tourist Advise. The apartments have a pool at the front of the property and a poolside bar/snack bar. I could not recommend these apartments highly enough. They have their own website.
The apartments are set in the most beautifully cared for gardens, with pool. The scents from the roses are beautiful. The owners of the apartments are so helpful and are quite literally a talking guide book. The apartments, grounds and pool are absolutely spotless. The apartment fronts the road which is not particularly busy and are on three levels. They are roomy, have satellite tv and a reasonably equipped kitchenette. Our apartment had two single beds and a rather beautiful wrought-iron day bed, with ensuite bathroom/shower.

Vila Alexandra in Limenas (Thasos Town)
In Thasos there are mostly private houses that rent rooms with small kitchens, there are hotels all right, but I have no idea how much they cost. Private houses are most popular and cheap ways of staying there.
I ll add photos of the hotels I shooted while on Thasos, maybe that would be helpful to you.
The house owner name is Roula. Like form that movie The Big Fat Greek Wedding. She speaks greek, greman and little bit of all languages.

Unknown: The Most Basic......
I don't remember whether this was a double or twin room. I do remember the only storage was in a plastic hanging wardrobe!!!
Shared bathrooms, usually with cool water.
Communal fridge in the corridor.
Narrow, shared balcony.
The views over the harbour were lovely , watching the comings and goings of the fishing fleet.
Another thing I remember about this room was knocking a 11/2 litre bottle of Thassos local wine all over the floor and our camera. The floor soaked the wine up somehow but the camera was never the same!!!! Just another typical drunken evening!!

Grand Beach Hotel: Limenaria: Grand Beach Hotel Great!
We were There at the beginning of August and we had no Problem with the Hotel! I'd like to comment the user that said they werent happy. The hotel is not expensive, while trying to find rooms in Limenaria, we found for the same prices, places not even half the room size of Grand beach!!
As for the beach, the beach in front of the Hotel is Great!!! I will disagree in boycot writing, as other people might write. Because we happened to be during that time, there was a storm and cant put it with God. OK, the beach after the storm needed a few days to clear. The whole island had this problem!... But the sun came out again & after the sea cleared again. This happens in many islands.
I am happy for the money I payed and had a great time!!! There was absolutey no problem with the hotel, Food great too. The view from the balconies, is Paradise!! And if someone wants a more noisy area, they can go to the center of limenaria.

Grand Beach Hotel: Be carefull, what you see is not what you get...
Our stay in the hotel was rather unsatisfactory. Although the hotel is new its positioning is not ideal. It is located very close to a very long beach buy with very small width. Also the sea is layed with rocks making swimming not so enjoyable. Since it is located at the edge of limenaria village, you need to use a scooter even for a newspaper and the nearest club is more than 4 km away... The only good thing about this hotel is its cousine which is very nice and rather cheap. But you can find a similar room in the nearby village with half the price.....

A north Aegean Greek islands Hotel, with a Great: Limenaria Grand Beach
It was Lovely! Lots of time spent at the "Grand" beach there.... The rooms are very very big and no other hotel there has these kind of rooms, very comfortable. The view from the balconies, looking at mount Athos of the Aegean sea is Great!
We had our breakfast there included, since we have come to this island again, we have never had such a "plenty" one anywhere else!

Hotel / Pension Sylvia: Quiet little hotel
I stayed at the hotel Sylvia for two weeks. It is nothing too special, just small, quiet hotel - a bit like a guesthouse. The owners were very friendly, the rooms small but sufficient and clean and it was right on the beach.
The hotel had a small outdoor pool that was well kept. They could help you with renting a car.
We had the hotel booked with breakfast and dinner. For the price that we paid (quite low) I guess what we got was fine. What is missing really is the lack of choice. You are being served what was prepared that day, i.e. one or two dishes, and it's your problem if you don't like it. Breakfast was simple, bread and jams/nutella and always an egg. For dinner it was pasta dishes, salads etc. Mostly, I liked it. But within two weeks you are likely to get some dinner that you don't like.
There was a small outdoor pool. The hotel is right on the coast and some rooms have sea view. It's quiet at night.
Public transportation can be a problem.
