The best way is by plane and for information on flights ,call Olympic Airways office in Corfu Town. There are around 4 flights aday from Corfu to Athens during the summer and two in the winter. It takes about 45 minutes.By sea, there are several ferries aday run to the Italian ports.Corfu's main connection with the greek mainland is through Igoumenitsa and there are up to 20 sailings a day.If you want to see Paxos,Antipaxos,Parga or Erikoussa, there are plenty of day trips to choose from.
The best way to get around is by taxi if you are in town. There are ranks at the Old Port and at the Esplande and if you are out in the countryside phone for them.Renting a car is great and not expensive. All bus services are based in Corfu Town . "Ipsos beach"
This photograph was taken with a telephoto lens from our rented villa, so you can imagine, we did not walk either up, or down to/from the beach.

"Inspecting the pitch !!!"
Yes myself and some of the cricketers were inspecting the concrete pitch, of course this is so different to the English ones.
"Cricket pitch and Corfu town"
If you click to enlarge this photograph, you can see the cricketers (our tour team ,centre - on the green) -
This photograph was taken from the Old Fort.

"Entrance to the Old Fort"
This steep slope is the entrance to the Old Fort situated high above Corfu town, that affords fantastic views all round.
"Inside the Fort"
This picture is taken inside the fort, and shows the stage in the open air arena where shows, plays, concerts etc. are held. The backdrop from the seating area is shown in the picture below.

"Inside the Fort"
So this is the seating area, red and white plastic charis, the picture being taken from behind the stage. So you can see the lovely view from the top of here. This is where we could see the aircraft coming into land at the airport.

"Looking down from the Old Fort"
Looking down from the Old Fort, and in the background is the approach to the airport. See other picture for aircraft that had just landed, that shot follows on to the right of this picture. (other picture in next travelogue)

can some one please help me me my wife & 2 kids are going to a wedding in parga and are stopping in ipsos corfu and are looking for the best and cheapest way to get there thanks Tim

Quite straightforward just take the car ferry Corfu town to Igoumenitsa, runs at least every hour, then to Parga by bus or car. About 50-60 miles. Check that the hire company allows you to use ferries.

Local car hire firms are less likely to allow you to take their cars to the mainland, due to the problems with repair/recovery if something goes wrong. So I'd look at the big international companie like Hertz and Avis.
