Tzilios Studios: Peace & Quiet
Tzilios Studios is pronounced without the letter T.
These self catering apartments are owned and run by Costas and his wife Domitri.
They will go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as it could be.
Set out on the edge of Acharavi village towards Roda but advertised as being in Roda.
All the roads to the beach in Acharavi are numbered with what is available down there e.g. To the beach, Restaurants, Hotels etc.
Tzilios is at the top of road 4, this road is probably the worst one to use to get to the beach as it has plenty of twists and turns and will be difficult finding your way home at night, road 3 is the easiest one to use as it is quite straight and only 100 meters from the studios.
Every room had a balcony with a sea view.
Large pool with plenty of sun loungers.
Bar area was basic but they served good food and a great place to chill out at the end of the night, usually helped with a free Ouzo from Domitri.
Super market was only 50 meters away as were the bus stops.
It would take you about 15 minutes to walk into Acharavi and about 30-40 minutes to walk to Roda via the beach.

Korfu Kontogialos: Corfu best beach - Pelekas best accomodation
I have to say, the atmosphere and the owners made my stay in Korfu Kontogialos apartments very enjoyable and relaxing! Facilities provided from each room were, kitchenette, shower WC, two single beds. Rooms were very spacious and cleaned daily. From my point of view, I believe that everyone who visits the apartments will be satisfied.
Imagine getting up in the morning, seeing the turquoise water from your balcony, having a good breakfast on the terrace and after that having a beach allmost to yourself. The food was excellent, in fact nowhere in Corfu ive eaten better. Andreas, the owner and the family are grate people and treats guests very very nice. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to sample unspoilt Greece. Korfu Kontogialos appartments offers good accommodation, reasonably priced and nicely positioned just 80 meters from the Beach. We will be back for morein 2009.
A grate location if you are especially looking to relax. The accomodation is in Pelekas Beach or Kontogialos a quite area in Corfu with beautiful sunset. There is nothing more romantic than sitting having a meal and watching the Sea just a few feet away from you. I recommend Korfu Kontogialos apartments for families with children.
You should come by car or rent one if you want to see Corfu island. We have seen all Corfu and i strongly recommended you too, there are beautiful places to see.

Cosy accommodation in Arillas: Tropicana Apartments
We stayed in Tropicana for a week and had a very pleasant stay. The apartments are located in Arillas, a small village in the north of Corfu. Tropicana is a little far from the village and the beach, about 1 km, but it's a nice walk so it didn't bother us. There's a supermarket and a bakery near Tropicana and some restaurants can be found on the way down if you don't want to walk all the way down to the village to have something to eat.
We had a one room apartment with a balcony on the first floor with a nice view over to the pool area. The apartment was very spacious and simple with a kitchen, a large bed, a wardrobe and a desk. There's no kitchen table, but there's a table with chairs in the balcony, where it was nice to have breakfast. The bathroom with a shower was small but clean.
Tropicana has a lovely pool area and since it's a small hotel, there was always free sunbeds available. There's also a poolside bar, where you can buy drinks.

VILLA BRIDGE: A LITTLE GARDEN OF EDEN
We stayed at the Villa Bridge in Aghios Gordios from 12th to 26th May 2008.
We booked the Holiday thru Manos Travel and paid a total of £604 for the two of us for the two weeks, this included all the extras, fuel surcharge, Airport taxes etc etc. Flying from East Midlands.
The Villa Bridge is located at the Southern end of Aghios Gordios, and can be reached either by walking along the Beach Boardwalk, or thru the paved fottpaths thru the back of the Village. Either way you are about 5 to 10 mins from the Street with the Tavernas, or one minute from the beach, about 50 yards.
The accomodation is set in its own gardens, there are two Bungalow type buildings.
The first nearest the gate comprises a Studio for two, and a Two Bedroomed apartment that sleeps 4.
The second building has a One Bedroom Apartment, this was ours, this is attached to the owners apartment, where the very friendly couple live, Elenas and her husband, also their cat, they also have a dog that lives at the bottom of the garden, we never heard him Bark so no problem.
Our one bedroom apartment comprised of, entry door into Kitchen Diner, this was very well equiped, more than we are used to on our Greek holidays. There was a Table and chairs for 4, A FULL Cooker (only used to two ring unit). Electric Kettle (No umbriki, greek kettle), an Electric Toastie maker, did not use. Full sized Fridge. Double sink unit, plenty of hot water and a PLUG.
There are plenty of storage, and crockery and cutlery for two.
To the left is a door to the Bath room, again more than we are used to. Toilet, Sink, Bath with overhead shower and shower curtain, "WHAT NO WET FLOORS" I hear you Greekophiles shout. Plenty of Hot Water at all times of the day.
To the right of the kitchen is a good Bedroom with, wait for it, A KING SIZED DOUBLE BED, not two singles shoved together. Sheer heaven for those Romantic Greek Nights, well be may have been married 38 years but we still love each other like crasy.
There was a large 3 doored wardrobe, Dressing Table with draws and two bed side tables.
Also plenty of electric points and lights.
Outside the front door is a small patio area that looks out onto the Garden.
For the gardeners amonst you you will love it, Flowers , Roses, trees include Lemon, Orange, Cherry & Olive, There is a Banana Plant. A vegtable plot and little lawns.
All kinds of Birds are attracted to the Garden.
The owners cat comes to visit but will not be fussed, will just sit and watch you, no problem.
The location is very quiet, and is not on anyones going home route, so quiet nights sleep are very nice. In fact when the sea was calm the only noise at night would be if a Leaf Fell from a Tree, you heard it hit the ground it was that quiet.
Elenas made us a Cake in the first week, a maderia with lots of Honey soaked into the base, very good.
Elenas Cleans and airs the apartment most days with changes of Towels and Bedding twice a week.
There is a path that leads directly to the Beach by the side of the Garden.
So I would be more than Happy to stay here again and again
A lovel rustic garden with flowers, herbs, trees and vegatable plot.

Bertos (Sidari): Really strange owner
Whatever you do, don't stay at Bertos apartments in Sidari (Peroulades). Mosquitos are everywhere. The rooms were not cleaned since ... second world war or sth. Food is the same every day - french potatoes, salade, tzatziki and meat. The food is often served with an insect or owner's hair (it's for free:) The owner is very strange, often drunk and can be really rude and sometimes violent.
The only good things there are a nice view and cool pool.

Domino's Apartments: A different Ipsos
My girlfriend wanted to introduce me to 'holidays in the sun'. A little sceptical we tried Corfu 1st, the resort of Ipsos. The apartments were a good 15min walk from the resort centre but this meant we were away from the majority of noise and could relax properly.
The apartment complex itself was on 2 sites; main, with pool and bar/restaurant and a s/c block just across a quiet road. We were in the s/c block with an orange grove outisde our terrace. The apartment was far better than I expected as a s/c virgin, being clean, a good size, a well equipped kitchen and minamalist. The holiday got better from there, although the resort of Ipsos wasn't really to our liking as it was to nightclub orientated for our tastes. There were some lovely restaurants with loads of fresh fish but the highlight of the holiday was discovering, by accident, 'The Squirrel' restaurant just 500yrds from our apartment; see the tip on this!
A slightly sloping grass bank with sun loungers with music playing throughout near to the main bar with pool table. Food at Domino's was reasonable but there was better available in town. Family run and all staff very friendly. The cocktail list in particular was excellent.

Sun Rock Hostel: Avoid in low season
This is a quieter alternative to the Pink Palace, on the same side of Corfu but a few km north along the coastline. It is a quick walk down to Pelekas beach from the hostel, and the rooms are laid out along the steep hillside. There is a common area with a bar, fireplace, lounge and TV as well as an outdoor terrace (see photo) and a pool. It can accommodate about 100 people, compared to the almost 1,000 the Pink Palace does. There is no pool table or darts or foosball or anything like that. The room rate includes breakfast (served until 1 pm only - show up late and you'll go hungry) and dinner - basic but tasty.
The hostel is open year round. We spent 3 nights there in March 2007 but we would not recommend visiting in anything other than high season. The rooms are not equipped to be enjoyed in under 30 degree weather - it is much too humid and freezing cold, and nothing is open in the surrounding area so you'll be stuck hiking to the top of the hill to catch the hourly bus to Corfu town, or you'll have to get by on the provided breakfast and dinner alone. It being low season (and the most guests there at one time during our stay was 5) we got one of the double rooms with a great ocean view.
The owners (Spiros and Mada plus their two boys) are welcoming but if they don't like you, you won't be eating dinner with them.

Gregory`s Studios: A warm welcome
These studios were basic, the couple who own them Gregory and his lovely wife Maria are the most hospitable hosts, we were treated like royalty and Gregory was very good with local information and even giving us lifts up the hill to otherwise inaccessable places. The second week we hired a car and he made sure we visited places of interest. We had a barbecue with them and We left for home with more lemons than I could use.
I have got to mention the cleanliness, as we sat one evening in the garden, Marias 2 daughters came to clean some rooms and boy did they clean. I would have no hesitation of ever staying there again.

Takis' Taverna: Corfu's Most Charming Inexpensive Inn/Restaurant
Takis' Taverna (sometimes known as Takis' Restaurant) has been owned since 1850 by the same Gerekos family in the village of Kondokali, Corfu, on the eastern side of the island of Corfu, just 20 minutes from downtown Corfu Town. It is run by the descendent of the original owners, Dimitri Gerekos, and his Canadian wife, Nina. Both speak impeccable English and Greek. Besides fabulous and inexpensive, authentic food, they also have rooms to rent upstairs and out back of the taverna, for a very very inexpensive price. Each room has its own bathroom and is very clean. I first stayed there in 1968 and have been going back ever since.
The family members are really great. For women traveling alone, it's especially nice to have a local (one of the Gerekoses) ask, when you go out, where you're going and when you might be expected back -- kind of like having a family member who really cares about you. The property is adjacent to the Marina, but you cannot really see it from the property. In spring, you will see fireflies leading you to your room at night. There is a very lively bar across the road which plays American and Greek songs, so if you want, you can be lulled asleep to that music. The property is very close to the bus line which goes to Corfu Town, so it is very easy to get around.

Christina Apartments: Friendly place to stay
Christina apartments are spread out the bar is only 3 years old and is quite smart.
The apartments are spead out and are well equiped and furnished to a good standard but no AC.
There is a very good swimming pool and sunbathing area with plenty of loungers. The holiday brochure says a small pool but this pool is not small I would say more like a medium size.
The food served at the Christinas is very good and very good value.
The bar offers good entertainment most nights and the drinks are resonable priced.
These apartments are in blocks across athe grounds so you do not feel you to close to each other.
The bar is very smart
The owners are friendly.

3 In A Bed
We stopped right on the edge of Benitses up a dirt track which was unlit at night so was quite dangerous when drunk, although if you wanted to go the long way round there were some lit steps.
The room was pretty basic and the bedroom was only meant for two, but as there was three of us we had to have a camp bed crammed in between the other two beds.
Cant remember how much it cost but you definately get what you pay for.
The kitchen and bathroom were both pretty small but had everything we needed.
