Hotel Corfu Secret: A hotel that respects the history of Corfu

by Luciano34

We were two weeks in June for holidays in Corfu island. We stayed in that hotel me and my wife and we are excited. When we travel we like feel the location, peoples and culture. For us it is not important a big lounge or a tennis court but is very important a nice building that respect the local environment, the cleanliness and the art.
In that boutique hotel we found the most from what we looking for our holidays. Very good service and our impression was that it had all the modern facilities but cleverly hidden so as not to destroy the retro atmosphere.
We recommend Corfu Secret for travelers who looking something romantic, something not big but friendly and warm and the most important great view.

Retro atmosphere, great view, cleanliness, vrey good service, very nice buffet breakfast, art and original antiques

Pelagos Apartments: A wonderful stay in Corfu

by net360

Pelagos Corfu Apartments are located on the beach Agios Gordis, we felt very lucky to be able to gaze the magnificent view from our balcony... it was very relaxing! The comfortable and pleasant accommodation in Corfu combining all the modern facilities makes me want to go there every summer!

Our apartment had one bedroom with two single beds, separated from the rest of the apartment with door, and a kitchen –sitting area with two or three sofa beds, fully equipped kitchen, two balconies, bathroom with tub. It also had a bed for children up to 12.

Sunrock Resort: Great location, weak facilities

by J_Antunes

Sunrock people were quite helpful and picked us up on the ferry harbour as soon as we got. They have this small bus that is always going to town so it's a great way to travel there. The resort itself is quite secluded in a beach with 2 or 3 hotels and very peaceful. The place has great views over the sea, a wonderful esplanade and ok food.
When we got there we were informed that they had forget about us. So they transfered us to the honeymoon suite. Well it is honeymoon because it has such a great view but the place is pretty basic, the bathroom was quite clogged and the extra bed was awful.
In the following day we were transfered to a small house a little bit up the hill. The place was ok, but the bathroom was terrible. The sink pipe was broken and water flooded everything.
Great location, wonderful views, brilliant beach but the rooms could be improved.

"ARION Hotel": Some recommended hotels in the City of Corfu

by INSULARIUS

Unfortunately and I do not understand the reason, Corfu becomes more expensive every year!

Most of the big hotels that catter for big groups of tourists, are outside the City of Corfu. If you want to stay near the city centre, I can recommend you two hotels: Arcadion (rather expensive) and Konstantinoupolis (more affordable). If you want to add a romantic touch of the bygone days, you should opt for: Cavallieri and Bella Venezia (rather expensive, but the view and the atmosphere are beyond any description!Just visit Cavallieri, go to the terrace and drink your cappuccino and the whole Corfu will be on your feet!

Personally, when I visit Corfu, I always stay at: Arion Hotel. It's more than a kilometre from the city centre, on the Anemomylos area (Anemomylos in Greek means: windmill and you will understand the reason!), opposite the Mon Repos estate and museum. The area is quiet and very green and the hotel is just nice, nothing to do with luxury and similar things. The price for a single room is EUR 65 (breakfast included).

Certainly, you should visit my homepage, where there is a lot of information about Corfu!

Hotel Konstantinoupolis, Corfu: XIX century charm

by apekovic

Nice hotel, nice ambience in the city center - on the main pedestrian street. Noisy during the summer season.

Fully renovated with great respect to the history and the architectural tradition of Corfu, the Konstantinoupolis Hotel is conveniently located near the Old Port, away from the city's busy commercial centre, yet with easy access to the major sights and attractions of Corfu.

Housed in a prestigious building dating back to the mid-19th century, during the British Protectorate in the island, the hotel enjoys an excellent position near the main harbour and has always been in great demand among the business world of the time, as well as the high society of Europe who chose Corfu for their holidays.

Hotel Konstantinoupolis has preserved its authentic character, while providing every modern comfort, and offers a charming environment with completely refurbished interiors. Warm hospitality and thoughtful assistance will make your stay in Corfu a very pleasant one.

A cosy TV lounge is located on the ground floor.

Galini Apartments: Galini, Arillas

by zizkov

My accommodation in Corfu was the Galini Apartments in the small resort of Arillas, in the north-west of the islands. It is a small, fairly standard complex, with twelve studios and five one-bed apartments. The owners also stay onsite. The studios are fairly compact, but well looked after, clean, comfortable and furnished with all the basics. Kitchen area includes a kettle and toaster, and (unlike some places) enough electrical sockets in the apartment.

The studios are along a main (but not busy) road, on a slight elevation: which meant my first floor studio had a view across the village and out to sea. Arillas, unlike a lot of the resorts, is more or less flat, so most places are looking onto fields, hills or other accomodations.

There is a fair sized pool (about 17m) sloping quickly to a deep end of around 2.45m. Loungers on the surrounds and adjoining garden areas: enough unless everybody wanted to stop by the pool. There is a pool bar, with outside terrace, which also serves food.

The distance to the beach is given by Thomas Cook as 650m: possibly true if you are a crow, but more realistically 10-12 minutes stroll to the front, a couple less to the village centre. Nearest shops are a supermarket/holiday stuff shop, and a bakery, about a minute away. Don't worry about the bike repair place opposite, it is not a disturbance, and the mechanic is amiable and let me park my rental car outside one night.

I booked as a package through Thomas Cook, though it is also bookable independantly.

The pics I have don't include a 'main' view - due the the rise there isn't a great place to take one.

Corfu Palace Hotel - Corfu Town: Luxurious - Treat Yourself

by chrisnorrey

We have never stayed in such luxury.
Superb position, spacious and comfortable room, air conditioning, impressive public areas, friendly but professional service and very good food.
For anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion, I would highly recommend it.

I am sure the hotel is not unique but we found it to be the best we had ever stayed in.
