Travel Tips for Kassiopi
OLIVES
by ruki
Where ever you go you will notice the olives all around and it can hardly be missed as there are almost 3 million trees on Corfu.
During the summer months, the olives slowly fatten. The olives start green and depending on the variety, (there are more than 300 hundred types), they will turn purple, then black. (And you thought that green olives were just unripe black ones!) Corfu mostly has the small black variety.
Why Weigh Yourself Down?

Try to find 'lightweight' luggage as many suitacases are really heavy items before you have packed anything in them!
Try to leave room in your case so you can squeeze in presents for yourself ,and gifts for others too. It beats trying to pack them all into your hand luggage at the last moment. Sandals are a must, take one pair for day wear and another for the evening. Choose a neutral colour if possible so you wont have to worry about matching everything up.
If you plan to hike around, take a good pair of sensible shoes/boots with you or suffer the blisters. The terrain can be very rough indeed. Toiletries and medical supplies are very expensive in Kassiopi, so ensure you pack everything you need or be prepared to fork out big time! Take a good camera (with a flash) and plenty of film too. If you intend to snorkel or dive dont forget to invest in a good underwater camera too. Take lots of swimwear, tee shirts and shorts. During the spring and summer months you will wear little else. A few nice outfits for the evening will make you feel a million dollars, so pack some favourite and glamourous items to glide around the town at night.
SWEET VILLAGE KASSIOPI
by ruki
I have been in Kassiopi for 33 days with my family and it was wonderful experience.
Kassiopi is nice small fishing village on the north of Corfu Island. Tourism is just growing up here and the nature is still untouched. In the Kassiopi there are the most beautiful beaches on the island. If you like crystal blue and clean water the Kassiopi is the right place for you.
Kassiopi is situated 36km north-east from Corfu Town and from the top of the Kassiopi hill you will be greeted with marvelous views of Albania that’s no more than a few nautical miles away.
By day Kassiopi is quite and sleepy.....but by night, it comes alive with it's own unique atmosphere.
You will find EU blue flags here and at nearby Kalamionas beach and there are various watersport facilities located at Kalamionas, Pipitos & Bataria beaches as well as a scuba diving school.
Kassiopi, Corfu

"Kassiopi, Corfu"
Kassiopi was once a typical Greek fishing port and although it still has many fishing boats it also thrives on tourism. For those families with disco loving teenage children, the old harbour will be a godsend. This part of the typical Greek daytime resort turns into a trendy music center after dark.
