Hotel in Kerkyra Town, August

Hi,
I think my question's quite similar to the last one posted so maybe we can compare notes.
I'll be staying for one night in Corfu in August, on my way back from Albania. Does anyone know of any hotels that are nice and good value in the centre or (particularly) around the port area?
The Konstantinoupolis is exactly the kind of place I'd like to stay but 102 euros for a single room sounds a bit expensive....
Does anyone know of any others, or how to halve the price of the Konstantinoupolis?

i stayed some years ago in the hotel Europi, just behind the harbour. it is small and basic but cheap.maybe you can phone them 2661 039304.from the street x. stratigou there are signs. then a lot of the rooms were rented to people who stayed longer (months).have a good time maria

When I am in Corfu-just like next week-I usually stay at the ARION Hotel.It is not in the port, but on the Anemomilos Neighbourhood, besides the Mon Repos Estate.It' s only 10 minutes from the port and the price for a single room is EUR 65.

I always used to stay in the Hotel Venetzia which is in the old part of Corfu Town on the South part of town. I loved this old hotel with its quaint feel of times gone by. The breakfast was also excellent and was served in a small little room outside in the garden. I haven't been there in years, so I don't know if it is still the same nor do I know the prices. It was very convenient for walking just about anywhere in the town from this point and it was quiet. Enjoy your stay in Corfu.

The main "CBD" area of Corfu Town has very much an English Colonial feel about it - this can be explained by the history of the island.

There are heaps of great cafes and restaurants ranging considerably in price.

The achitecture ranges from magnificant collonades to narrow paths and crubling buildings.

Foe people who know my pages, you will know I have a real thing for dirty/sexy places. Places that can be a bit dirty and different but retain a sexy charm. Corfu is one of those placs.

In kerkyra you can find many kind of beaches all around the island.
I loved Paleokastritsa beach... the sea is really clean, its color is blue/green... the only problem is that water is very cold!!! but really a great place!
In the north of island you can find many little rocks beaches like Nissaki... Here the water is warm and very nice! from nissaki you can see Albania land. 2 km is the distance from nissaki to Albania!

Angelokastro (you can see the picture) is a real nice fortified building. you have to pass through many little tipical greek villages to go to this castle.

Kerkira - the kerkyra city offers to visitors many kind of buildings and squares very particular like Espianada (a big place in venecian style with a big cricketfield in the middle) and the old fort (in front of spianada)...

Saint Spyridon's Church

It is obvious the Italian influence to architecture of the building.
It is dedicated to Saint Spyridon (Agios Spyridon) who is the Saint of the island and according to the legends he saved the inhabitants of Corfu, in the past, from epidemics and he appeared twice as a monk, helping them against Turks in 1673 and in 1716.

The so-called Canal d'Amour, an interesting rock formation can be found in the Sidhari bay. According to a legend, the rocks are supposed to be two lovers turned into stone and if a man and a woman swim from one rock to the other, then their love will last forever.
