In need of travel tip please

by kolenozrut

Hi there!
I would need to know, what would be the best way for me to travel from Athens to Kerkyra, but the flights are a little too expensive. Could you please give me a tip on buses which travel on a regular basis to Igoumenitsa or a travel agent who would offer a trip from Athens directly to Corfu city?
Thanx a lot for the answer.
Radovan

The only help I can give is to refer you to a website called www.harefares.com which lets you choose your origin and destination airports and then shows all the cheap airlines that fly that route. Aegean airlines flies that route for about 80 Euro depending when you go. Good luck!

Travel Tips for Kerkyra

Gone But Not Forgotten

Again definetely the trips to Paxos and Anti-Paxos, with all the gorgeous caves and the swimming of the dolphins next to us, who would not want to see this ? I miss the warm hospitality of the local people especially those whom lived in Paxos and Anti-Paxos.
These were true friends and touched our hearts in a way I can't describe. They would always put you first and go out their way to make you feel comfortable.
I WILL BE BACK !

Visit Corfu town. It's a very old town, so one can walk through narrow, cobbled streets, sit at The Liston (photo) which is a place resembling the one in Paris (Rue de Rivoli), with cafes all lined up near each other, it's a wonderful place where you can relax after a days shopping, or a days sightseeing. You can take a ride on a horsedrawn cab (originating from Malta), to see the old town better. It's full of great shops, selling mostly local wine, ouzo (beware! shop owners give out free ouzo to taste, it's VERY strong!!, it's an aniseed liquer sort-of-thing), feta cheese, olive wood and much more!! Spending a whole day at Glyfada beach. It's one of the largest, longest beaches in Corfu. Spectacular views, very clean sand and sea. Wonderful family run taverna overlooking the beach, serving delicious traditional Greek food, (Greek salad, chicken souvlaki were excellent). Go there to relax & soak up some sun! Oh by the way, they also offer loads of water sports for those who are interested.

Gorgeous Beaches Of Paxos

The main thing I miss would be our fantastic trip to paxos and Anti-Paxos. These gorgeous Islands have so much to offer for day-trippers or holiday makers. The Seafood and Lovely hidden coves that we found to bathe on, along with the friendly locals

It´s really worth to go to boat trips. You win immediatelly twice, when a boat captain is so funny as our was. Boat name was Marianna and we started our cruise in Kerkyra (city). Crew was helpfull, friendly and funny.
Second cruise was to 2 small Isles via south from Kerkyra. They names are Paxos and Antipaxos. Antipaxos - the smallest one, there live only 5 families. Paxos - very nice Isle with good bars and restaurants. Seafood is here excellent.

On my opinion the best beach of the island in the 'GLYFADA' beah.
It is a sandy tropical beach, fully organized with water sports activities and beach music-bars.
Engoy a beer after sunbathing to 'ALOHA' BEACH BAR,have in mind to go away before the night falls. It is quite difficult to drive to the narrow roads when you have drunk a bottle of tequila.!!!!!!!!!!!!
